People in the bar were wearing Reagan-Bush ‘84 shirts and had marine tattoos. Going to a country music night and went to christian colleges. Sounds like conservatives were targeted.
I’m a CLU alumnus and contrary to what you may think, it is a LIBERAL arts college with emphasis on liberal. I attended for a hard science degree / mathematics and as a conservative in the 80’s, I was definitely in the minority and suspect it is as far left and liberal as any other university today. Even in the 80’s, the university was embracing of homosexuality, immorality, abortion, etc. Just look at the ELCA that funds it and you will have a good idea as to what the university holds dear.
Despite any of that, this is tragic and disturbs me greatly.
