Full title/header:

Tattooed trenchcoat-wearing ex-Marine, 28, is identified as gunman who massacred twelve people during student night at country bar: Suspect killed himself after hurling smoke grenades onto dance floor and slaying cop in California

xxx xxxx, 28, opened fire at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, Southern California, at 11.20pm He was dressed in all-black and let off at least 30 shots from a pistol with an extended magazine Witnesses said Long also let off smoke grenades to confuse the terrified crowds In April, police and mental health specialists were called to Long's home after a disturbance but they cleared him instead of having him committed It is unclear if he bought his .45 caliber handgun after that incident or if he already owned it The weapon was legally purchased in Ventura County but Long modified its magazine He killed himself after killing 11 people inside the bar and a sheriff's sergeant who responded to the scene There were around 100 people inside the bar, including some who were under 21, who were there to dance The College Country Night is a regular fixture and youngsters from nearby colleges can go and stamp black X's on their hands to mark that they won't drink Some of those inside were students at Pepperdine University and others are thought to have gone to California Lutheran University - both are Christian schools

Prayers up for the kids and families. No, I ain't using the perps name. Extended mag? Illegal in cali? Need stricter extended magazine laws? Marine with ptsd? Isn't there a redflag rule in cali? Hogg has not commented yet since it was 'merely' a pistol that was used. What if he had incapacitated the folks at the door and chained the doors shut and used gasoline to set it ablaze? Of course we'll hear the infringers shouting soon.

"Long modified its magazine"

Wonder what that means? Not sure how you'd modify a magazine to make it hold more rounds. You could buy an extended magazine or you could tape two magazines together butt to butt for a very quick reload but could easily be counterproductive with a pistol.

He looks like a wacko in the later photos with the beard, smiling, compared to the photos when he was a Marine.

Weld on some sheet metal, extended spring. Shucks, anybody can do it. Of course buying one at an evil NRA sponsored gun show and AR give away would be easier.

We don’t all survive, I mean THEY all don’t survive their military service well. Then again he could just be a regular nut bag who happened to have been in the Marines.

Most people, including these reporters are clueless. They do not realize that empty magazines are expendable, and are subsequently replaced by full magazines. Furthermore a mag change can be performed easily in under 1.5 seconds.

If this guy wasn’t already dead, I would make sure he was hanged in public after being convicted on his multiple murder counts.

For glocks, you can get a +2 adaptor.
However, they make an extended length adaptor for use in the KRISS weapons system. It doubles the magazine size.

More incompetence from the “experts”

Oh my, and this was following the tragedy in Parkland in February that was committed by someone who also should have been institutionalized.
