Acting AG Tells Dems To Shove It: No Recusal From Russia Probe
Townhall.com ^ | Nov 08, 2018

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday said that acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker should recuse himself from overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

"Given his previous comments advocating defunding and imposing limitations on the Mueller investigation, Mr. Whitaker should recuse himself from its oversight for the duration of his time as acting attorney general," Schumer said in a statement on Wednesday.

[…]

Well, despite recusal calls, Whitaker is pretty much telling the Democrats to shove it, with his associates telling The Washington Post that he has no plans to do so:

Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker has no intention of recusing himself from overseeing the special counsel probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to people close to him who added they do not believe he would approve any subpoena of President Trump as part of that investigation.

Calling the Mueller operation a “Russia Probe” sounds kind of silly at this point.

Sounds like President Trump made a sound choice. Only time will tell.

They sure seem scared about allowing someone outside their group to oversee the Mueller investigation. The Mueller investigation is an ugly national spectacle the Democrats have directed and produced. All motivated to criminally undermine, compromise and overthrow the President.

I would pay money to hear this guy literally tell Cryin’ Chuck to “shove it”.

Now, the Dems and never Trumpers are saying that he can’t be acting AG because he was not confirmed in his current position by the Senate. So, any administrative policy decisions he makes will be challenged.

At this point, I say so what. Mule-face is overseeing US attorneys but he wasn’t confirmed by Senate either.

That being said, it might be prudent for Whitaker to “pressure” others to do what he wants. Sessions resigned himself. Rosenstein could do the same. Money to Mueller can be choked off, subpoenas can be squashed or forfilled.

“Hey soy boy Chuck, come over here and tell that to my face you little bitch”

That would be great

This guy is not pulling any punches, he seems to be doing everything right and he only been on the job for 24 hours. I am impressed.

I think he cannot be named PERMANENT AG until confirmed by the senate.

He is a ‘senior employee’ in the DOJ and served the requisite amount of time. He was appointed per the rules of the Vacancies Reform Act. Not that Dems care about laws that they themselves pass...

Typical Dems. Put a few baseless charges out in the Public realm. Let MSM amplify it day after day 24/7 with outraged quack “unbiased” guests who of course are in on the game. Let things percolate while showing outraged mobs. Get the citizenry revved up. Keep showing stern faced Dem politicians, who of course know the lie, and at the same time tell confused low information voters how Trump and the Republicans are trying to destroy democracy. How do you expect the general public who hasn’t got a clue what is going on, to believe a single Republican? What chance do Republicans have of ever getting the general public to believe them?

Yep. If he had come from a different agency, he would have had to have been previously approved by the Senate to that original job to become Acting AG.

From inside the agency, an Acting head needs only to be a senior employee with a certain amount of time in the job.

All covered in the Vacancies Act.

Sleazy soulless con men like Schumer, who are willing to tell bold faced lies to advance a cause need to be taken to the wood shed and spanked. Otherwise, folks with integrity have literally no chance of saving the country. We are now at a critical point in preserving this democracy.

They really don’t give a damn because they know it’s all bs anyway. They are simply hyping any minor change as obstruction, because it’s the only way to capitalize on a nothing burger....
