Broward Countys undervote rate is way out of line with every other county in Florida, which exhibited, at most, a 0.8-percent difference. (There is one outlier the sparsely populated Liberty County where votes cast in the Senate race were 1 percent higher than in the governor race, but there were talking about a difference of 26 votes, not more than 26,000, as is the case in Broward.)

As of the latest numbers I am seeing, around 716,500 people showed up to vote in Broward.

They have counted around 707,000 votes for governor. That would indicate less than 10,000 votes left to count for any sane jurisdiction. Of course, we are talking about Broward so I digress.
However, for the US Senate race there have only been 682,100 votes recorded, or almost 25,000 "undervotes". Please read the article at 538, there are a few rational explanations here:
(1) some people surely did "undervote" the US Senate race, intentionally omitting to vote for either candidiate. However, the "undervote" rate in Broward is off the charts compared to every other county in the state so it is unlikely voter action explains much of the issue here.
(2) a scanner error. I really doubt this as I looked at the precinct data for all 575+ precincts in Broward (data dump and played with the numbers). There were US Senate undervotes in all but ONE of those precincts. And the undervote rate is generally consistent across the precincts. I assume they scan the ballots at each precinct to count them? If so the odds of this being machine error are basically nil.
3) ballot design. As 538 shows, the US Senate race was kind of buried beneath some of the voting instructions. A few people on Election Day commented they almost skipped over it.
I don't think its fraud that they mocked up some Gillum only ballots, as DeSantis had a bigger lead. Also poor ballot design would also explain why there were fewer undervotes on lesser races on the ballot than the US Senate, which ordinarily would be unheard of.
This is looking more and more like there were just a bunch of people in Broward who overlooked the Senate race on a very long Florida ballot. To be clear I have little sympathy as I believe both parties have to approve the ballot and it really isn't that hard to fill out the ballot properly.
I you show up at the polls not knowing your state senate seat is on the ballot, then you are a moron. If you can’t find it on the ballot, or don’t have the capacity to ask someone, then you are a double moron.
exactly. if other people overwhelmingly throughout the state can figure it out, what is wrong with broward folks? or is it that a few folks filled many ballots for people just missing that race? - like those who “assist” voters at nursing homes or such?
“Shiny objects distracted me and I voted for Buchanan”
Here we go again - this year’s version of the “butterfly ballot.”
It's the same play and the same script again. New actors, new methods, but the same script...
Exactly. A deja vu all over again. :(
Is it so difficult to understand that your vote is what you marked on your ballot? I know of no ountry, no state, no jurisdiction where you are taken seriously if you come back after the election and claim that you really, really meant to vote th’other way.
What are you talking about. There is no way to recreate the ballot arrangement from Tuesday for a recount. Base on your logic then there would be no recount because the margin was too great based on the Tuesday numbers. The wacky leftist judges would rather have a count based on fraudulent ballots then to have one based on missing ones. The crooked democrats rely on that fact.
Why wouldn’t they have read a sample ballot sent to them previously, as in other states?
Does Florida mail out a sample ballot to registered voters?
Even though he lamely tries to excuse it as error, i’m surprised Nate mentioned this at all.
So is this going to end up in SCOTUS?
I was watching when Karl Rove picked up on that Tuesday night.
If there was one minute where any ballots were unsecured and not in the presence of a GOP observer the entire countys votes should be thrown out. That should be the penalty for this crime (plus prison).
Yes they do about a month prior. People in that county are obviously stupid.
Broward County = Brenda Snipes. Absolutely anything is possible.
Yeah - who would be more likely to be ignorant of such an important item on the ballot and leave it unmarked - Dem or Repub....nice theory but fit for fertilizer as an excuse.
The Fl SOS is certifying Tuesday vote totals .
Nelson lost .
Recounts will be based on that vote .
Nate stated the Gov race over weeks ago .
Now this gay radical nutter from the Daily Koz is spinning away .
What does that mean exactly?
Thnx
