PARIS — French President Emmanuel Macron amicably welcomed President Trump to the French presidential palace on Saturday morning, smiling and shaking hands hours after Trump blasted him on Twitter.
"So thanks very much, Donald, for being here. This is our pleasure. And our people are very proud to have you here," Macron told Trump after the men entered the Élysée Palace.
"I want to thank you here today for your solidarity 100 years ago, and your constant solidarity for precisely our people," Macron said.

If so I think we should dissolve NATO,pull every one of our troops out of Europe and publicly announce to Europeans "you're on your own,boys and girls!"
Did Macron say it or is it media spin?
I'm not sure.I think I heard yesterday on some newscast...or commentary...that he had done so.It's distinctly possible that I misheard,or misunderstood, whatever it was that was reported.
He is a clumsy little soi boy and hopefully La Pen will grind him into the ground in the next election. France deserves better but whether they realize it before it is too late to save themselves from the African/Middle Eastern mob?
I dunno... I feel like we need to defend ourselves against parts of the US too (Broward County, etc).
Macron is deeply and sincerely pro-American in the sense of honoring American ideals and our history with France. More of the French than one might suppose are like that, sincerely drawn to America for our virtues, proud of France’s role in securing American independence, and grateful for America’s help in the two world wars.
To the extent we have troops and equipment inside France we should move them out now. Lets bring them home and deploy them on our Mexican border. Macron’s statement lumps the USA in with China and Russia, how insulting after all these decades of defending France. Time to repay the Marshall plan money with interest
