On her MSNBC show AM Joy on Saturday, Reid offered this hot take while discussing Republican criticism of Broward County, Florida election head Brenda Snipes:
"Here is the way they are treating Brenda Snipes, who is the long-time Election Supervisor there, who by the way is an older black woman in the Deep South."

I’ve seen Brenda Snipes described as “Dr. Snipes”. Why? Of what is she a “doctor”? What am I missing here?
Gimme a break! Broward is white liberal central, mostly whites from the NE, with a black population of under 20%. Nobody lived in south Florida until the railroads arrived.
Not the “Deep South” - which might be places in Georgia, SC, Louisiana and Alabama - but sure as heck not Florida.
I read that the Parkland shooter (who is in jail and has confessed) registered to vote while incarcerated in Broward County and presumably voted. Outrageous!
Is this the same Joy Reid who made a ton of homophobic remarks that the left completely ignored and she was able to keep her job unlike if a Republican said those things.

There are significantly MORE Democrats in Broward County, than there are Republicans. So the “deep South” of which Joy Reid speaks is a Democrat stronghold.
Incompetence should be criticized wherever it is encountered. Especially when it involves vital government functions, like tallying an honest count and reporting the election results in a timely and unquestioned manner.
Brenda Snipes is an example of the “Peter Principle”, a person who may have functioned very well at a lower level, but is clearly floundering in this job. And has been for a long time, it would appear. Look at the fiasco involving the primary election of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in 2016. And that was Democrat on Democrat, no Republicans at all.
That older black woman should be fired. And knock off the racist crap.
