This is beyond disgusting.

Anyone involved in this should lose their job and face jail time themselves.

There are some crimes that should strip people of their right to vote for life.

It’s unfortunate, but until he is convicted he is not a felon. If you were not allowed to vote anytime you are accused, the dems would have us all accused of something right before every election.

Really shows who Sheriff Israel really is about. I’d have more confidence in ones like Barney Fife and Deputy Perkins (from Lobo) than I would Israel.

Isn’t Florida letting Foreign national invaders vote already? Obviously All Criminals have a say in society and can vote there.

Looking at the constituencies that form the core of the Democratic Party’s power base, it’s eminently clear that ‘criminals’ (whether not yet accused, currently awaiting trial, or actually convicted) constitute a vastly important interest group to which the party caters...

When a jury of fellow citizens determines a certain citizen belongs in a cage, that person is no longer a member of society and should not be privileged with the political right to vote.

Well, either we are for the rule of law, or we are democrats. As emotionally disturbing as it may be, this sos is still legally allowed to vote.

A good example/reason for a speedy trial and sentence. (And execution of sentence.)

While I am utterly disgusted by both this guy voting and by Scott Israel, there is a simple rule at play here:

No conviction = any person accused of any crime(s) cannot be denied their right to vote.

Perhaps people should be more pissed off that there hasn’t yet been a trial that almost certainly would result in a conviction and some elements of justice.

Well, he hasn’t been convicted yet. Even once executed, they’ll keep him registered and voting.

I’m sorry, the liberals you voted for did this.

What do you want me to say?

Well, change the law to keep the accused from voting. But remember the feminazi attacks against Kavanaugh while doing so and remember the consequences of being political retards.

If those jailed haven’t been convicted I can’t see how their voting can be prevented. They have to be considered innocent - like Justice Kavenaugh- until proven guilty... even if in some cases like this shooter’s case the evidence against them is readily apparent and undeniable. It’s a matter of due process- not necessarily because we care about this shooter’s civil rights, but because we care about anyone falsely accused.

I feel for the father and fully understand his outrage, I’d be outraged too if it were my daughter....but the concept of innocent until proven guilty is so critical to society as a whole that it dwarfs our individual suffering.

I’d be more concerned if the sheriff allowed the registration of convicted felons. And there is another concern about jailhouse registration … in that a prisoner, whether innocent or convicted, is different from a free voter because a prisoner is dependent upon the bureaucracy for his or her needs and may even be dependent upon criminal gang leaders for protection; thus there is a high risk of extortion or at minimum pressure for a prisoner to seek to please either his guards or the gang leaders by voting as they demand. How can there ever be a true sense that one’s ballot is truly secret inside a jail or prison?

I call BS on the pic in the tweet.

Note how it shows party affiliation as republican. Maybe he is, but that was my tip that this was manufactured.

I went to the florida voter registration site and you at least need to know the birthday associated with a name, so who sent that registration data to the dad?

From the FL site:

“Access or attempted access by someone other than the voter to his or her own information that is exempt from public disclosure may subject the user to criminal prosecution or civil liability.”

I find it hard to believe the killer sent his registration data to the father.

Either manufactured or someone accessed it illegally.
