Polish defense minister to talk ‘Fort Trump’ in US

While in the US capital, Mariusz Błaszczak was scheduled to sit down for talks with officials including Defence Secretary James Mattis, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

During his previous trip to Washington at the end of last month, Błaszczak held talks with President Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser John Bolton as part of a flurry of efforts by the government in Warsaw to have more US troops stationed in Poland amid fears of Russian aggression.

Błaszczak told reporters he was optimistic about talks on setting up what officials and the media have dubbed “Fort Trump” in Poland.

Błażej Spychalski, a spokesman for Polish President Andrzej Duda, said at the end of September that Warsaw wanted to spend about USD 2 billion to build infrastructure for American soldiers in Poland, including housing, educational and medical facilities.

Following Moscow's annexation of the Crimea region of Ukraine in 2014, NATO decided at a Warsaw summit in July 2016 to deploy four rotating multinational battalions to Poland and the Baltic states.

Move all the military bases out of Germany and into the Old East Prussia part of Poland.

I hear France is getting their own army to protect themselves from evil countries like the US.

Well more the Troops out of Germany and send most to Poland, but send some back home to guard the Mexican border since we don’t have a wall or even wall funding.

In fact you can do the same thing with the rest of EU troops, send them elsewhere and send some home. We need at least 100,000 troops for our southern border with Mexico.
Our troops are funded and the wall isn’t so lets protect America with forces we have.

I’d like to support helping sane countries like Poland and Hungary, but, face it, logistics won’t allow it. We’d have no way to support them.
Europe is NOT a friendly area anymore, and obviously, Russia is not, either. If the balloon goes up, we would not have land, sea, or air access to supply and support troops in Poland.

I feel bad for Poland. They have been divided and conquered numerous times - namely between the Germans and the Russians.

I would fear the same fear today - between Europe fascism and Russian aggression of today.

Would be an awesome move to remove all troops from Western Europe into Poland. Dreaming I know.
