The gunman accused of killing 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida is facing new charges after he allegedly assaulted a prison guard. According to Fox News, the now 20-year-old Nikolas Cruz was being escorted by Sgt. Raymond Beltran who told him to stop dragging his sandals as he walked. The alleged shooter responded by flipping off the officer and then slapping him in the face.

"Beltran indicated that he and Cruz then got into a physical altercation that resulted in Beltran going to the ground and Cruz taking Beltran's conductive electronic weapon from him," the affidavit stated.

Cruz continued to strike the officer until he managed to regain control of his stun gun and used it to hit the accused school shooter. Eventually, he stopped attacking Beltran and was detained.

He was charged with three felony counts of aggravated assault on an officer, battery on an officer and use of an electric or chemical weapon against an officer.

The officer sustained undisclosed injuries in the brawl, but officials did not release details about the extent of his injuries.

Sounds like the guard is a bit of a snowflake.

Gee wonder if that guard will let him alone by mistake with the GP soon? Would be a shame.

I posted a story a couple of months ago about his birth mother who is a violent bull dyke who has been through the judicial system many times.

I would say he has a genetic predisposition for violent behavior. Too bad Obama’s rules for not disciplining kids with minority sounding names kept him from being controlled.

"... and then slapping him in the face."

I'm sure that those running the prison will realize that a person with their hands cuffed behind his back cannot slap anyone. This guy appears to deserve the death penalty. Until then, he is liable to find his life much less comfortable than it could have been.

Prior to reporting to prison we should probably amputate the dominant hand of convicted mass murderers to reduce their capacity for mayhem a bit. Just thinking out loud here, don’t mind me.

I wonder if this has something to do with the discovery he was registered to vote?

Reason for the death penalty. If you are in for 17 murders, what can they really do to you to keep you from harming guards and other prisoners.

I’ve thought about this. Supposing your execution date is imminent and you kill a guard or another prisoner with the express purpose of delaying it; the government would to bring charges, a trial etc.

I suspect he meant ‘restrained,’ but the other works, too.

Stupid bitch is going to figure out that was a bad idea. When you are in prison, those guards effectively own you. Pissing them off is not a good plan.
