According to information from the CBP, Barnard Construction Company, Inc., headquartered in Bozeman, MT, was awarded a contract to build up to 32 miles of primary pedestrian replacement wall in the Tucson and Yuma Border Patrol sectors... The contract is for a base of $172 million for construction of 14 miles in Yuma Sector with options that bring the total to $324 million, funded with CBP’s Fiscal Year 2018 appropriations. Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2019.

This is the first in Arizona.
The 14 base miles in this award are running around $12 million per mile, so it should be a very significant system - much more to it than just bollards and patrol road.
"Another 13 (optional) miles in the Yuma Sector and five (optional) miles in Lukeville are included in the projects, which call for the construction and installation of upgraded tactical infrastructure."
Actually... In the bigger scope of things concerning what the government considers as chump change, That’s not bad...
Half a billion awarded for wall building between this week and last week.
I also expect to see another award next week for McAllen Texas, to fill in between the two just awarded there.
They are really hitting the high volume trouble spots, and putting some really solid/effective wall system in.
San Diego, Calexico, Yuma, El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley are all getting big improvements. The only big urban areas on the border that we have not heard from so far have been Nogales (Tucson) and Laredo, Texas. Maybe the prior barrier is better there. I know Nogales had some of the bollards with anti-climb plate.
More border wall contract awards today (15 Nov) - Now in Arizona, starting in Yuma in April.

We need to amend the Constitution to wall off our money from thieving leftists, here and not yet here.
Not only is the wall/fence different, but the terrain (ie cleared land and horizontal pits) makes it much more difficult to cross.
To where? No logistics.

The Tohono O’odham Reservation is a really major crossing point for drugs also. They need a wall to help keep their members from getting mixed up with the drug cartels - it is hard to resist that kind of big money.
If we can wall off the cities, it is possible to chase illegals in the desert with drones. The bottom line though, is that they need enough money to get the job done, one way or another.
