CNN media critic attacks White House ground rules for press conferences

CNN seems to have forgotten the old adage, "Be careful what you wish for." After filing suit over the revocation of Jim Acosta's hard pass to the White House and winning, that network's media beat reporter is upset. Speaking on CNN's Newsroom, Brian Stelter seems certain that danger lurks in the new open and transparent rules provided by the White House in response to the judge's demand for due process on decisions over revocation of access to press conferences or the White House.

Joe DePaolo of Mediaite writes:

Brian Stelter stated his belief that nothing has been resolved, and the White House will use their battle with Acosta as something of a message to other reporters.

"I think that the White House wants to string this along, wants to make this a threat that looms over the entire White House press corps," Stelter said.

The Reliable Sources host referred to a letter the White House sent Acosta informing him of ground rules for behavior at future press conferences.

Here are the rules that Stelter finds worrisome:

The rules are absolutely commonsensical, and they work to allow more correspondents access to questioning the president or other official speaking that day. If a follow-up question is necessary and not permitted, then other correspondents can step up and push for answers. If no one does so, then maybe the question was not that compelling in the first place.

Little Jimmy has pretty much been neutered and the rest of the WH press aren't gonna be happy.

This is going to be fun to watch.

The MSM has morphed from the Fourth Estate to the Fourth Reich.

The LSM is all over this morning patting themselves on the back for the great win of “a free press”. The morons are so slow and stooped it is almost pathetic. Can’t wait until they get the backhand they deserve.

Any complaints should be directed to Trump’s complaint hotline. Just dial 1-800-Bl@w-Mee.

The “press” is replete with compromised DIM/LIB operatives who have an anti-America agenda. Why they are even allowed onto the White House grounds is beyond me.

I say - let them sit there and stew.

No more press conferences. Not from Trump. Not from Sarah. Not from anyone else.

If the administration has something to say to these vermin, let them xerox it and hand it out to them.

Stelter is a master at redirection.

He constantly evokes Acosta as a martyr, without a word about his behavior, and then redirects his supposed outrage fear to an attack on the Press in general.

This is very simple Brian....... Acosta abused the other press core by hogging the mike.

Brian, we can see the hustle, you’re not that clever.

Maybe his Mom. Certainly not me as he appears to have about as much experience as Acosta does acting professional.

CNN sued and got a judge to demand the white house establish due process for the press (which makes no sense but judges don't have to anymore). The White House complies with the judge (because that's what dictators do, right?) and now CNN is concerned that the process is an ominous sign.

Sorry CNN, this is 100% on you.

They should still schedule them EVERY day. And just never show up. Cancel after they wait for like 20 or 30 minutes. Then in about 2 weeks show up and do one. Rinse and repeat.

“If the administration has something to say ” then we’ll hear about it after POTUS Tweets it and they report it.

Arrogant b-word liberal apparatchiks.

The MSM has already received the back hand that they deserve.

Evidently, most of the media has not read the transcript of the court ruling from last Friday and are relying on CNN’s interpretation. The judge’s ruling Stated that the Trump administration had to restore Axosta’s Hard pass to the White House for two weeks. In that time, Trump, had to give CNN notice of further action. There is evidently a precedent where notice was given.

Trump’s letter does just that, gives CNN notice that Acost’s behavior was unacceptable and explains why they are removing Accosta’s Hard pass to the White House. The letter also offered CNN an opportunity to argue the case for not removing Acosta’s pass. The parties will return to court at the end of the month.

President Trump is one of the most open press conference presidents ever. Remember back in the Jimmy Carter days back in 1979/1980, when President Carter stayed holed up in the White House while our American hostages suffered in Iran for 444 days? The MSM are hypocrites, only out to take down Republican leaders while giving a free pass to Democrats.

Well, the White House is the People’s House, not the media’s, as they do not represent the people, they represent their masters (the Dems, Soros, Globalists...)...
