At least eight deaths have been reported in clashes between protesters and police since the protests began on Sunday. Among the dead is a police officer who was shot and burned to death by a gang on Monday.
Three people also were wounded, including a 29-year-old French woman and a Haitian-American tourist, who were hurt when a group of armed men opened fired on an airport shuttle when it refused to stop.

Haiti’s never going to change......it will always be as it is and has been.
The protests are of course about spending of $3.8bn Haiti received from Venezuela as part of an oil assistance Petrocaribe program...Much of the financial support to help Haiti rebuild after the 2010 earthquake comes from the Petrocaribe fund,....embezzlement by former government officials is in play....as well funding, they’re still rebuilding from, since Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
Give th entire island to the Dominican Republic and disperse the population amongst the 25 nations that speak French as a first or 2nd language.

Isn’t French the main one to Haitians? That and Creole? They make $200/yr. Give them $400 to move.
Better idea: Make it an American protectorate for 50 years where we can turn it into a low wage penal colony. Dominicans will have lots of employment while awaiting total control. They’ve always claimed it anyways.
