Summary: Feel sorry for the people in China who will be subjected to this; but this is already what big social media and surveillance capitalists in the U.S. are already pushing for as hard as they can. This kind of centralization is necessary for the development of further levels of tyranny.

At least we have a choice in the West - no one is forced to participate in the lunacy of social media.

Zuckerberg started a similar “trustworthy” index for every Facebook user.

That score remains a secret from them.

The sci fi TV show “The Oroville” did an episode like this. The encountered an alien planet/ society where everyone was judged by the collective will - on everything. It was a commentary on today, taken to an absurd extreme, but maybe not as much as we’d think...

When (not if) the next Democrat administration rolls this out, I wonder if they’ll just weaponize Google and Amazon’s existing systems, or build out one of their own.

I like your term, “Surveillance Capitalists.” Combined with the NDAA, and SJW’s, you are right.

China imposes it’s penalties on travel, etc.

Facebook, Google, and the SJW’s impose their social credit penalties by things like shadow banning, banning, demonetizing, and making it impossible to get or hold an executive level job if you are publicly conservative.

There's a line in Terry Gilliam's movie from the 80s "Brazil" about a dystopian future state with an all powerful bureaucracy where a wrongfully accused man is being interrogated in a torture chamber and one of the guards says "Don't fight it son. Confess...QUICKLY. If you hold out too long you could jeopardize your credit rating..."

It was satire back then. Now?
