Amazon's free training: Internal machine-learning courses are now open to all

New free AWS machine-learning training offers everyone the same curriculum that its employees use.

Amazon has announced new, free courses in machine learning, offering all developers the same curriculum that it uses to train its own software engineers and data scientists.

The company has over 30 online machine-learning courses, including video, labs, and documentation that have been used within Amazon for the past 20 years.

The courses are split into four main tracks, catering to developers, data scientists, data platform engineers, and business types.

Developers, for example, are offered courses that teach machine-learning building blocks, how to build machine-learning applications, computer vision and natural language processing.

For business leaders, the courses promise to demystify artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning, as well as help them understand the terminology and how to use AWS machine-learning services to build models and add intelligence to applications.

The courses are being offered as part of a new AWS Certification Machine Learning, which uses an exam format to test to and validate a person's knowledge about machine learning, such as which approach is optimal for a given business problem, and which AWS services to use for a machine-learning application.

I'm not a big fan of Bezos and, thus, Amazon. However, I think this is something every computer code savvy member of this forum who has the time should take advantage of.

The future of free society will be determined by those who control AI and robotics.

“The future of free society will be determined by those who control AI and robotics. “

MIT recently established a new College of Computing for this very thing.

I tried to order some Christmas items yesterday and found my Amazon account has been disabled. I am not able to re-register and I get no response from customer service.

A bit strange for a business site.

“The future of free society will be determined by those who control AI and robotics.”

That's why every household should have its own supply of nanobots (see iRobot), to destroy the CPUs of the rogue robots.

Me and coding never seemed to go in the same sentence.

I still make it a point to learn anything I can.

You should not have purchased that MAGA Hat on Amazon. It’s your own fault.

"You should not have purchased that MAGA Hat on Amazon. It’s your own fault."

You know, it's funny but I thought about that because my Facebook account was also permanently disabled a couple weeks ago.

I’m a systems engineer and don’t write code but I like to know the techniques and algorithms being used so that I can understand their capabilities and limitations. I’ll definitely be skimming through this material.

It’s free, just like some apps, which gather data on the user.

The problem of disappearing Amazon accounts was discussed earlier this year. Lots of people have had the problem and no explanation given by Amazon other than "you violated our terms of service." Lots of people lost everything and never got it back. There was discussion of a class-action lawsuit.

Google "disappearing Amazon accounts" or "amazon closed my account for no reason."

Here is one article I remember reading at the time: Furious customers say they've been mysteriously locked out of their Amazon accounts — and they have no idea why

Here's a Reddit discussion from 2015 of the same problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/amazon/comments/2vfz45/amazon_account_data_disappeared_past_orders/

supposedly people who return a lot of times they purchase lose their prime membership- maybe they also have their accounts locked? I dunno- there’s gotta be a reason- maybe it’s because some members order too many conservative supporting items, or Christian items, or anti-left items
