I take being banned from Twitter as a badge of honor.

I don’t disagree with any of that. My point is simply that I believe it’s fully within their right to do so like it or not.

remember, twitter needs us, we don’t need them.

send them the message by logging off for good.

he does not control the connection to the internet though..

That cord could be pulled rendering the server unreachable.

FR can fall victim of they same type of censoring..

all they have to do is label FR has hate speech.

Just caught another suspension myself a few days ago. Having an argument with a lib over the border and that it is coming to the point that we will need Marines posted at the border, one in the chamber and weapons free order given.
Got reported by a couple libs and that was it; one week ban.

It doesn’t matter what a site or app is called, a publisher or a platform. It matters whether it obeys its OWN rules.

If it claims to be free for all sides and gets utility status basically, like tv or anything, it needs to obey laws greater than itself. If it is like FR and announces up front that it’s a platform for THESE VIEWS, it doesn’t have to include everyone.

“One can only imagine the fall out if he got banned.”

If he were to be banned, he might be inclined to switch to a small Twitter-like platform, and create an instant competitive threat for them.

I would say yes, although if they make that decision based on subjective criteria, they are providing a publishing function, and can be sued by individuals for what is written on twitter.

And in fact, if “banning” is described based on a violation of rules, and the rules were not in fact violated, that could be libel — a person who is not recognized as a public figure could sue saying that Twitter’s banishment for “offensive posts” which were not in fact offensive is libelous and damaging to a person’s reputation.

Why do we even go on Twitter? It’s America’s bathroom wall. GET OFF IT AND STOP SUPPORTING THEM. Same thing with Facebook. I am weaning off. I am sure my life will be better.
