Even the EU is treating the Paris climate agreement as a joke....

According to a new United Nations report, just about every major nation is failing to achieve its carbon reduction target under the Paris accord.

One of the key culprits? The European Union.

The U.N. notes that three recent studies of EU emissions indicate that the political bloc will fail to reach its carbon reduction target. While the report offers optimism that the EU will take action to meet its obligations, increasing public anger over gas prices and other energy cost considerations make me far more skeptical of that. Germany, for example, continues to rely heavily on dirty coal. This situation is made worse by Chancellor Angela Merkel's rejection of nuclear energy.

Then there are the familiar carbon emitter powerhouses: the U.S., China, India, and Russia. While all these nations continue to spray out carbon, I want to pay particular attention to China here. While China continues to emit twice as much carbon as any other nation, many Western observers now claim that China takes its pledge to reduce carbon emissions very seriously.

So what's going on here?

Ultimately it's a failure of compliance. In a most basic sense, it doesn’t take a genius to realize that if European democracies are willing to breach their formalized commitments, so too will authoritarian states like China and Russia. Until new technologies exist that can protect energy consumption with less damage to the environment, national governments will continue to be reluctant to pummel their populations with energy policies that raise costs and hurt the economy.

Note here that the green energy economy remains a boondoggle, resting on government subsidies and inefficient employment structures.

In short, the Paris climate accord is far less impressive than many would have us believe.

What’s the point of all this? It leads to absolutely nothing so far as any climatic improvement. Of course,it’s hard to believe that is the object of it all anyway.

Oregon will make up for their failings in “climate control”.
Our recently re-elected leftist governor is changing the name of the states energy department to a climate department.

Maybe all the dummies that voted for her can riot Paris style when our gas taxes skyrocket.

Wanna know how to see the “global warming” scam? How it is not for saving the world, not to help save people, not for saving the polar bear and is all about massively growing government power?

1. The most far left wing rich/celebrity/politician supporters of “global warming” continue to buy uber-expensive beach front property. Beach front property, all around world, continues to rise in price. If they believed their own hype, beach front property should be worthless and they wouldn’t go anywhere near it.

2. The most far left wing rich/celebrity/politician supporters of “global warming” are the most radical anti-nuclear power nuts you can find. Think about it, a power source that is capable of providing the power needs to an entire country without adding one “green house” gas or emission. If “global warming” was that real and that imminent, they would be screaming to close down every fossil fuel power generation station (to include natural gas) and replace it with nuclear power.

3. When “scientists” or government bureaucrats find flaws in their data or models suggesting that their global warming doom predictions are not true or greatly exaggerated - they are sad or angry about it. Or even try to hide the new data. Any normal person, when told they were basically were about to die in a melting earth in the very near future, would be jumping for joy on finding this new data. They would partying on their new lease on life singing “We are saved from destruction!”

Normal people don’t have their grant money salary or supply of pretty female grad students tied to the global warming scam.

The point of the accord was to tie the US in knots. The Euro countries never intended to comply.

Climate change is absolutely real. Been going on for YEARS! Don’t like it talk to the sun and oceans, throw in a volcano or two. This is the biggest bunch of horse crap ever perpetrated on mankind. Send kids to college raise them stupid and broke. We’ve gotta get to Mars to save ourselves. Smart like rock, sharp like door knob.

it's so simple: money.

we, citizens of rich countries, have to pay carbon credits to the likes of algore to bake a potato.       simple.

Of course climate change is real, and always has been.

Real climatologists have studied climate change a lot, using real science. Ice cores can give us data going back to the first ice age, before we walked the earth. Other methods, such as isotope composition in oxides, carbonates, or gas inclusions, can take us back hundreds of millions of years.

The data are compelling: not only has climate often changed, the changes in the past have been far greater than any experienced recently, and they were not caused by dinosaurs burning coal.

Indeed, our climate has been more stable recently (it's called the Holocene) than at almost any previous epoch. But is plain fact, Earth's climate is not, technically, "stable". It is metastable. That is, it will tend back to equilibrium after small changes, but will at other times transition to a new, different, metastable state.

As it did in the Cretaceous, when the poles were warm swamps with basking alligators. And in the Carboniferous, 20 degrees warmer than today, and an atmosphere of 30% oxygen. A baking desert? No: with more abundant life than ever before.

The current panic is more than a scam: it is often a fraud. Canada is an example. It has warmer bits and colder bits. Then one day the government turned off many of the permanent temperature recorders in the colder bits. Presto! Canada is warming up.
