Not enough votes to override a presidential veto.

This isn’t about Khashoggi; this is about hating Trump.

And for that reason, President Trump will either not implement the intent of Congress (particularly the Senate), or he will be so dilatory in the application it would amount to the same thing.

The application of realpolitik, while it may trouble the purists and the ideologues, is really the only option here. The Saudi Royals may be SOB’s, but for now, they are OUR SOB’s.

The Iranians are very definitely much worse. This is the Middle East, after all, and the enemy of my enemy is, well. you know the rest of the syllogism.

Great post.

I accept that what happened to the WTC does not resonate as much with most as it does with myself and others who were here an I LOVED those buildings and worked in one and like i said, lost friends.

YES, I would be thrilled to see SA get hit with a missile bombardment.

But I put the most pressing threats now first, and my country first.

So I would prefer only some get killed by the missile attack :)

It is what it is.

16 years is a lifetime in politics and world affairs, like I said...sigh...

Please tell me again why we need a Republican Senate?

Because Rinos usually just throw clogs into the machine to stop things up, while Democrats actively work to destroy everything. Democrats are significantly more destructive than Rinos.

If they had a problem with US involvement why didn't they do anything when Obama sent the troops to Yemen?

Because BOTH sides are bought and paid for by the time they get to DC, with a small handful of exceptions. The question should be why GWB didn't dump Saudi Arabia after 911, and why our nation has deteriorated so much morally that there's no outrage.

The silver lining in the slaughter at the Turkish Embassy just might be that our war-mongering is scrutinized and condemned.

re: Benghazi. One of the disappointments with President Trump is that there wasn’t a real investigation of Benghazi, and charging US pols such as hillary and McCain with crimes they committed. Now that he’s lost the HOR a lot of things that he put off probably won’t happen.

When the Muslim guy croaked, I just called that, “Winning”.

When will Obama, Slick Willie, and Hillary be punished for the muurders at Benghazi, in Fast And Furious, Waco, etc.? Actual Americans died in those instances.

Anyone else here think that if Khashoggi was the air conditioner repairman instead of a Washington Post reporter this wouldn’t be nearly as big a deal?

The vote was ALL Democrats and 14 Republicans.

And this is just a vote to discuss the Yemen situation...

Since this Khashoggi guy is the Second Coming of Christ, why didn’t I ever hear about him before the Saudis turned him into stew meat. I don’t understand why the commie ‘RATS think this is a big was such a big deal.

It's a bit late for that. Besides your friends were killed by the friend of cash hoagie who was probably involved as well. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

This is how it should be, if we are going to be involved in an actual war, congress should authorize it.

It’s a mistake. It is the act of the globalist POLs and supporting the deep state. All want US subjected to world government.

At this point, I don’t believe what Turkey is projecting. It is renewed battle with SA and US. Attempt to divide natural allies and isolating Israel.

In a majority Republican Senate, Democrats have NO power. However, Republicans are very reserved about how they use their power to get things done. RINO’s on the other hand, have a lot of power to thwart President Trump’s agenda, as McCain has shown us as well as Jeff Flake recently and what Romney promises to be. Unless McConnell starts taking-no-prisoners with RONOs, Democrats will again control the Senate to a degree.
