Tijuana Closes Caravan Shelter, Moves Migrants Further From Border
Hot Air ^ | 2 Dec 2018 | Jazz Shaw

For some time now, the advance guard of the caravan has been sheltered in the Tijuana sports complex, where officials have been providing them with food and basic medical attention as best they can. That came to an end this weekend. While officials in Tijuana had said that they didn’t plan to forcibly move anyone, they are now shipping the migrants to a concert venue ten miles further from the border. Apparently, the conditions inside the stadium had become too grim to bear. (Washington Times)

The conditions inside that stadium definitely sound grim. It doesn’t help that the venue had partially flooded during the recent rainstorms. But the temporary residents were also apparently ripe with parasites and communicable diseases. That’s not the first time we’ve heard that complaint, however. Even with some of the migrants who have already been allowed into the United States for amnesty hearings, American officials have noted the large numbers who carry infectious diseases. And Tijuana municipal government spokesmen have broadcast the same warning.

Tijuana’s Health Department is warning that migrants who came with the caravan are suffering from respiratory infections, tuberculosis, chickenpox and other serious health issues.

The spokesman told Fox News that out of 6,000 migrants currently residing in the city, over a third of them (2,267) are being treated for health-related issues.

I have always thought they should move the main shelter further from the border anyway. Don’t let them cluster and congregate so easily. Keep them in fractured groups isolated from the others, less open to activities based on mob mentality, like rushing the gates.

Personally, I am not opposed to sending them medical help and then helping them get home. I would like to see some private charities handle that, however. I am definitely opposed to letting them in to spread their diseases. They need to be treated and sent home.

Everyone except them (migrants) foresaw this. Inexcusable.

this entire show is an economic, pestilence and disease assault on the USA . I was infuriated when I got tio part that read "many were already admitted to the US"

our government is not doing its job of protecting and defending us. Our government is disgusting. The government officials need to pull their heads out each others "you know wheres" and stop falling for the humanitarian feelgood sucker deals by the globalist entities out to destroy us

Sorry Mr. Officer, I think you got it wrong
I’m a lonely ol’ Texas boy and I wanna get on home
He smiled and said, “Senor, you’re not in Texas anymore”

Send my love to my home, but send my mail
To Tijuana Jail

PRETTY ROCKING SONG

"the temporary residents were also apparently ripe with parasites and communicable diseases"

Do you suppose they meant to say the invaders were "rife" with parasites?

And if conditions are too grim to bear by Tijuana standards, you know it’s got to be pretty bad.

If conditions at either the new location or sports complex are too bad, they can apply to the U.S. for asylum from Tijuana.

Did the ‘big border rush’ the instigators were to instigate for Saturday (yesterday) ever materialize?

I think that's what they should have said.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I don’t know if that second Border Rush ever happened. I know that Bamn and other radical groups were trying hard to provoke it.
If it happened and was anywhere near remotely successful, I’m sure the main stream media would be crowing loudly and repeatedly about it.
Their silence on that topic leads me to believe it was never attempted in any massive measure.

Hey, it sounds pretty close, so that’s good enough. It’s only old curmudgeons that think writers (even bloggers!) should use words correctly.

Bad editing, but both true in this case. After ‘walking’ all that distance, I’m sure they were smelling pretty ripe.

Hey, mexico...move them back to their crummy countries. Otherwise, they are your problem.

That works or maybe the parasites were rife with invading diseases.

Sounds like someone is trying to do the U.S. what the U.S. tried to do to the Indians.

I wonder how long they will stay. The problem is it rarely gets cold enough there to make them pack up and go home. As long as they get food and water they could theoretically stay there indefinitely if Mexico allows it.

The ball is squarely in Mexico’s court at this point.
