Anyone who could live on a sub has to be a bit odd. LOL!
Those are Dirsup spooks out of Rota
It is good that the signs and remembrances are kept alive.
Good evening, vetvetdoug, and thanks for sharing more of The Berlin Airlift history.
I have yet to meet anyone who did who isn't a bit odd. LOL
It takes a certain breed to be able to handle that life. It's not for everyone, that's for sure.
I ran into my old Command Master Chief yesterday.
I have known the man for over 30 years, but we rarely speak to one another.
I’m wearing this goofy hat my SIL made for me and here comes old mastermind... he says “I like your hat” I said thanks.
I may not speak to him again in several years..
Interesting story. I am looking forward to more installments. I was privileged to work several years back in the 80s with an airlift veteran, Gail Halvorsen, aka The Candy Bomber.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...has the rain stopped? Did you get a good hike today?
No noticeable shaking today, thank goodness!! I think I’ll put my car in the garage tonight,
:-)
That’s right! I could NEVER live like that. Being so close to others all the time would drive me around the bend. And if I even THOUGHT about being so far under the water.......EEK!
Anyway, they would never take me. I never have been a good swimmer. Always afraid of being over my head.
Wear the hat again and it might be sooner.
It seemed to get his attention. :-)
The in your face stuff is harder today than back then
We did not have CNN back then lol
It is hard living on top of one another, but we managed.
I couldn’t do it either. I went inside a sub eons ago at a museum and couldn’t get out of there quickly enough. I started thinking about being in such close quarters deep underwater and just about lost it.
It gave me a healthy respect for those who can pull it off.
Even if they can be a half a bubble off at times. LOL
:)
Hopefully things are changing after the government went too far in the wrong direction not long ago.
They were special people, and they got an impossible job done.
Maybe that's why they are called bubbleheads. LOL!
Good evening, radu...hope you were warm today before your cold weather sets in.
AJ just arrived a bit ago and I’ve given him the grand tour. I went for duck food this morning, but the road near my turn was blocked and closed and I didn’t know another way to get there. Next weekend. I scoped out another way. AJ brought up the last bag for me, and boy were the ducks happy. Earlier I had given them the very last crumbs in the barrel and they kept quacking. I usually bring it up 2 buckets full at a time.
BUT, after 2 hours of picking broken glass out of the stair lift track and vacuuming and vacuuming and vacuuming, I can get it to go up and down with only a few crunchies.
