Pelosi, Dems to pass DREAM Act in next congress. It's their first order of business
American Thinker ^ | 12/03/2018 | Rick Moran

The probable incoming speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, said in a statement on Saturday that one of the first orders of business for the new Democratic majority in the House would be to pass a DREAM Act, putting millions of children of illegal aliens on a path to citizenship.

Pelosi was responding to a letter from House Democrats eager to get the DREAMers legalized as soon as possible.

CBSNews:

"America draws strength from our long, proud heritage as a nation of immigrants.  In the Majority, Democrats will work to reverse the Republicans' destructive anti-immigrant agenda," Pelosi said in a statement Saturday, responding to a letter sent Thursday by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.  "Our House Democratic Majority will once again pass the Dream Act to end the uncertainty and fear inflicted on patriotic young men and women across the country."

Lawmakers in the Caucus urged Pelosi – who is vying to secure her second spell as speaker of the House during the upcoming congressional session – to schedule votes on legislation to codify protections for recipients of the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and for immigrants with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) within the first 100 days of the 116th Congress.

"We will protect TPS recipients and those fleeing unimaginable violence," Pelosi added in her statement.

It's true.  America has always drawn strength from immigrants – legal immigrants.  As for illegal aliens, it's a debatable question whether overall they have been a plus or a minus for the country.

They’ll start with a little amnesty like DACA.
Then if they get it because President Trump wants to help them too, they’ll want to amnesty their parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, in laws, out laws and on and on.

They know it would be DOA. This is merely a PR stunt to fire up their illegal voter base in 2020.

Quit wasting our tax dollars nancy. Time and effort wasted on a bill you know will get the big red pen if it ever makes it to the desk of PDJT.

DOA in the Senate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They have the votes to pass this in the Senate.
Graham, Alexander, Murkowsky, Hoeven, Rubio, and plenty of other Bush League Republicans support amnesty.
Our only hope is a veto.
What confusion. The GOPe can’t pass legislation while in control of both houses and the Presidency. The democrats take one house and suddenly control the whole agenda. The only place that happens is in the Fantasy Land of the D.C. Swamp.
I still think wall for DACA is a decent idea. Yes, hardliners on each will hate it, but that is how compromise works. If you don't make some trade now, you're just going to get the DREAM Act sans anything good whenever there's a Democrat-controlled House, Senate and White House, and make no mistake, they will eventually control all three again someday.
There has to be something done to stop new illegal immigrants from getting in. Too many seem focused on the illegals already here. If nothing is done to stop the flow, eventually they're just going to outvote everyone, but I guess that means the 'all or nothing' crowd will technically get what they wanted.
60-vote filibuster would still apply to this. Not enough RINOs in the Senate to overcome.
This is DOA.
