Pope Francis: Gay People Not Welcome in Clergy [How the MSM "Pink News" section reports it]
MSM.com Pink News ^ | December 02 2018 | Sofia Lotto Persio

Pope Francis has been quoted as saying that “there is no place” in the clergy for gay people...

Italian news outlets have published excerpts from a four-hour interview between Pope Francis and Spanish Missionary Fernando Prado, published as a book titled "The strength of vocation"...

Avvenire published on November 29 the full excerpt in which Prado asks the Pontiff specifically about the inclusion of “people with homosexual tendencies.” Francis admits that this is “something that worries me..."

He calls homosexuality “a very serious matter, which must be discerned adequately from the beginning” with those who seek to become clergy.

“We must be demanding. In our societies it even seems that homosexuality is fashionable and this mentality also affects the life of the Church,” Pope Francis said.

Pope Francis Upholds traditional teachings on homosexuality

The official teaching of the Catholic Church reject homosexuality as an “objective disorder” and “intrinsically disordered.”

The pontiff recently suggested that LGBT+ children should be taken to see a psychiatrist.

He recalled a religious leader telling him that, in his congregation, there were “good young students and even some already professed clergymen” who were gay.

“He himself had doubts about the thing and asked me if there was anything wrong with this,” Francis recalled, saying the religious leader told him that perhaps it wasn’t a serious issue and that ultimately it was only “an expression of affection.”

But the pontiff disagreed...

“It is not just an expression of affection. In the consecrated life and in the priestly life there is no place for this kind of affection,” Pope Francis said: “For this reason, the Church recommends that people with this rooted tendency are not accepted in the ministry or in the consecrated life. The ministry or the consecrated life are not their place.” [snip]

Remember when Pope Francis was declared the LGBT "Person of the Year"?

Well, now he's being attacked by the Elgee-Beaty tribe. a step in the right direction.

I still think he's guilty of "praising with faint damns".

If he's at a loss for words, he should refer to the Catechism (as good Catholics do!) and say that such acts are "acts of grave depravity," they are "intrinsically disordered," they "do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity," "under no circumstances can they be approved," and even a homosexual tendency or inclination is "intrinsically disordered."

The Catechism (LINK) is a good resource, Holy Father. It contains Scripture, Tradition, and the authentic Papal Magisterium. I'd look into it, if I were you.

But thanks for trying!

Always the mixed message

So much for words, words, words.

P. Francis hasn't hesitated to sack whole religious orders for the crime of fidelity to the Latin Mass. Let's see if he fires any LGBT "allies" from his own elite cabinet, the G9 (hint: start with Rodriguez Maradiaga and Bernhard Marx) or if he suppresses any religious orders or "media personalities" which advocate for this perversion (like Fr. James Martin, LGBT.SJ).

I'd stand on my hands and clap my feet if that happened....I'm not holding my breath.

But do keep praying. This may be some Holy Spirit action here, almost like the Balaam Syndrome (Numbers 22-25), where the false prophet is pretty much forced by the Lord to say the right thing.

Yeah I caught that “affection” thing.

He’s made his own bed.

Neither side likes him now.

As for being gay and a priest, a man who becomes a priest still will have the urges that he can’t act on.

I’m not religious scholar/shrink/etc.. to determine if a gay man could withhold his tendencies for life so better to err on the side of the children.

But I don’t trust that most heterosexual men can live chaste lives as priests and up to 70 percent admit that they don’t.

It wasn’t ALWAYS that priests couldn’t get married.

I should be revisited.

In the consecrated life and in the priestly life there is no place for this kind of affection,

Married life and single life are no place for this kind of affection this abominable sin, either.

Seriously, the celibacy is a big part of the problem, from a purely seculare perspective — by restricting priesthood to unmarried men, they pretty much guaranteed a good number of them would be gay, and would therefore target male children, as has been clearly demonstrated.

“by restricting priesthood to unmarried men, they pretty much guaranteed a good number of them would be gay”

I don’t see that. They could fiddle around with girls and women, couldn’t they?

Meanwhile, the “people who feel gay should seek professional help” thing could be interesting. In some states, this is actually ILLEGAL now.

So if you are a Catholic professional, and some Catholic parent brings their child to you, when the state arrests you, you can now point to it being your OFFICIAL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION that you must treat this child, and the parents can say they must bring the child.

This would set up a grand religious liberty case that could make it to the Supreme Court — and it would be hard for the state to demonstrate a serious scientific reason why they needed to ban counseling.

My own diocese is being torn-apart by covered-up sex-abuse charges over the last 4 decades. 90% are man-on-boy. That the corruption of homosexuality is reason for this scandal is lost on everybody.

The decline and destruction of the Church will continue as long as this remains unrecognized.

So is Bergoglio mouthing these words for the sake of expediency or does he actually believe what he is saying?

I think the former, not the latter.

Gee whiz, we learn that homosexuals TARGETTED the priesthood, and it’s a BAD thing that we’re unhappy about that.

OK.

I have nothing left to say.

I agree, that aspect of priests being celibate needs to be revisited.

One perversion quickly leads to another. The difference between a heterosexual priest who takes vows of celibacy and a homosexual priest who does is that the homosexual has a perversion to fight on top of an natural inclination towards sex. It seems that the perversion when put under that sort of pressure comes out in another direction I.e. young males

Either you are a follower of God or you are not. As someone whose existence is to be the one closest to God for an entire faith... this pope is as slippery as soap on a rope in the mens shower. He is an abject failure as a representative of or for God. He is damned.
