Wisconsin Republicans forge ahead with power-stripping bills

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republicans moved quickly Monday with a rare lame-duck session that would change the 2020 presidential primary date to benefit a conservative Supreme Court justice and weaken the newly elected Democratic governor and attorney general.

The changes being sought would shift power to the GOP-controlled Legislature and allow outgoing Republican Gov. Scott Walker to make one last major mark on the state’s political landscape after he lost re-election in November.

Republicans forged ahead despite threats of lawsuits, claims by Democratic Gov.-elect Tony Evers and others that they were trying to invalidate results of the November election and howls of protest from hundreds of people who showed up for a public hearing.

The lame-duck maneuvering in Wisconsin is similar to what Republicans did in North Carolina two years ago and is being discussed in Michigan before a Democratic governor takes over there.

According to California’s Senator Finestein Every Democrat Senator and US state Rep will support her bill (co sponsored by Baldwin)
which bans arrest of illegals even for serious crimes if elected
DO YOU REALLY WANT THIS ?
Organized hordes of illegals by the thousands are pouring into Mexico then being brought to our border and crossing it illegally expecting to be taken care of by US Taxpayers in sanctuary cities and states who’s democrat (in name only) governor like Evers would allow them to get a drivers license

Democrats HAVE DONE THE SAME. AND WORSE.

Remember the wisconsin state senators that fled the state like babies to prevent a quorum. they all should have been impeached and removed for vacating their offices.

Democrats stole the election. They shouldn’t be allowed to benefit from vote-rigging and ballot box fraud.

Oh ! You believe Evers should permit issuance of drivers licenses and then become a voter?

What our legislators should also pass is permit the choice of bar owners to allow smoking.

Four years in power and three weeks before they are gone, they get to work.
I sure hope they don’t mess up their Christmas Holiday. /sar

They also need to get a handle on administrative rule making. I’ll expect the GOP to challenge Evers here.

Evers has never operated in an adversarial environment; his background is education and being the state’s superintendent and spending his professional life in the government school system makes him uniquely unqualified.

It will be fun to see Evers frustrated.

“Democrats would do the same.”

They did MUCH worse when Governor Walker took office! Started a recall election, 14 of them ran away to Illinois to make sure there weren’t enough present to vote on legislation, tore apart our Capitol building, made death threats against his kids, wife, parents and dog, etc.

I hope Governor Walker gives the Democrats as many stakes to the heart as possible on his way out the door!

Rats are trying to pressure Walker to veto, crying to lengths I haven’t seen since 2004 Texas US House redistricting.

Meanwhile, the State Senate rams though a bunch of Walker nominees!

In Michigan similar thing is happening, will panty-waist RINO Governor Rick Synder sign the bills?
