Could Jerome Corsi's lawsuit destroy the Mueller investigation?
American Thinker ^ | 12/04/2018 | Elad Hakim

Perhaps the media and the various "experts" should reconsider salivating over the recent information stemming from the Michael Cohen plea agreement in light of the lawsuit filed by Jerome Corsi.  According to Fox News, "Corsi filed a 'criminal and ethics complaint' against Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team, accusing investigators of trying to bully him into giving 'false testimony' against President Trump."  If this is true, Michel Cohen's "admissions" will be rendered virtually meaningless, and Robert Mueller's investigation should be immediately terminated.

As part of his plea agreement, Michael Cohen admitted to making false statements in a letter to Congress in 2017 regarding a 2016 Moscow building project that was being considered by the Trump administration.  According to Cohen, the discussions regarding the deal continued until June 2016, as opposed to January 2016, as he previously stated in his letter.

Many well respected legal scholars have opined that Cohen's admission has no bearing on President Trump and the Russia investigation.  According to Alan Dershowitz, "special counsel Robert Mueller's probe is creating crimes rather than uncovering past ones," and the "devastating" report he will write will be based on people "who have lied."  Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett agreed with Dershowitz.  According to National Review's Andrew McCarthy, Mueller is building a report as opposed to a legal case.  Said McCarthy, "With respect to the president and 'collusion,' Mueller does not have a crime he is investigating.  He is investigating in hopes of finding a crime, which is a day-and-night different thing."  Together, these comments paint a picture of an investigation that is reeling and a prosecutor hoping to find something he can use against the president that would justify his interminable investigation.

According to Fox News, and pursuant to Corsi’s complaint, “they wanted him to demonstrate that he acted as a liaison between Stone and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on one side and the Trump campaign on the other, regarding the release of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee.” Furthermore, Corsi alleged that Robert Mueller’s office is “knowingly and deceitfully threatening” to charge him with providing a false statement unless he provides “false testimony” against Trump and others.

There is a major distinction between a case that relies on the word of less than credible witnesses (a weak case) and a case where the witnesses are allegedly told to lie or are blackmailed into testifying in a certain way. While prosecutors often make “deals” in criminal cases, Mueller’s alleged conduct, if true, is distinguishable because a prosecutor cannot knowingly support or encourage a witness to make false statements.

If Corsi’s allegations are true, there is no way to discern the veracity of anybody’s statements relating to the Mueller investigation, including Cohen’s most recent statements. To the contrary, all statements, including Mueller’s, should be viewed with the highest level of doubt. If this is the case, what basis if there to continue to investigate?

Unlikely...but if some element is proven true in court....someone will get a call from their bar association, and have to go and explain things. If you had two or three of Mueller’s players who got the calls....suddenly, the remainder would halt their episodes and start to worry about their professional careers.

So, the counter attack has begun. The attack is along a poorly defended flank, a niche in the Mueller forces, that allows entry behind the lines.

There will now be a judge pitted against a prosecutor.

If Corsi’s allegations are true ..

Ah, theres the rub. How do you prove it? Surely they put him in a closed room and made whatever threats in there, with nothing on the record. Unless Corsi wore a wire it's his word against theirs.

On the other hand, a guy like Corsi might actually wear a wire! Or rather bring a recorder and try to covertly record the meeting. But I can't imagine Mueller's team didn't check for that if they were going to be making threats and suborning perjury.

There’s no end to the Mueller probe.

The lawyers can look forward to a full career...

RE: Unless Corsi wore a wire it’s his word against theirs.

Assuming he can get away with doing it, is it LEGAL?

Legal, schmegal. The cold hard fact is that Mueller will stop at nothing, NOTHING to remove President Trump ousted (and probably jailed).

The question becomes “What happens after the coup de etat?” Will we accept Nancy Pelosi as the first woman President? Do we BOHICA?

Be forewarned.

Right. And Hillary, a lawyer, destroyed evidence under subpoena and has yet to hear a whisper from either the bar or the "Lack of" Justice Department.

I doubt Corsi has any recordings. However, just like the “me too” movement, success is based on collaboration. Will Manafort and Stone join in or file similar complaints?

This is more than a legal process, it also a political one. The fake news media is clearly in the camp that opposes due process and civil rights and is on the side of the police state. This is a naturally unpopular sentiment that unites those from diverse political perspectives.

The fake media is seen as supporting the CIA, DOJ, FBI the surveillance state which is a shift from the past. Increasingly, conservatives have lost trust in these institutions, most on the left have never supported these agencies. This will cause the fake media to become isolated and hopefully irrelevant.

That’s where you show the pattern of one’s past actions. What’s their reputation? Is it one of honesty or deceit?

RE: Unless Corsi wore a wire it’s his word against theirs.

Corsi has documentation.

Didn't Mueller allow him to amend his original testimony which was then accepted?

Wasn't it the case that upon the further brow-beating of Corsi to "lie" (that was unsuccessful) that Mueller then decided to reverse his acceptance of Corsi's amended testimony?

Corsi has documentation.

It appears the Muller probe will end up being a permanent govt agency, part of the Fed budget decades after Mr Trump leaves office.

Yes it will serve as the catalyst which does. Ferris Mueller will die the death of 10000 cuts.

Robert Mueller’s eventual report will likely lay out a damaging picture of the president and those with whom he associated...

Anyone have a picture of the Kenyan usurper with Farrakhan or Jeremiah Wright?
