This fall, the U.S. Supreme Court essentially cemented the execution of America’s least known Islamic terrorist. Jihadist convert Alton Nolen is now set to be put to death in Oklahoma, likely by nitrogen gas inhalation.
The Supreme Court’s October 1, 2018 rejection of Nolen’s final death penalty appeal went unremarked upon by news media so, partly as a result, I missed it. But the Nolen case is very much worth remembering, along with all terror attacks that occur on U.S. soil, if not just for the victims and their survivors but for lessons that can and must be learned.

Human lungs evolved to be highly sensitive to
concentrations of carbon dioxide which then
regulates breathing. And since nitrogen comprises
most of the air, we evolved to not notice it, as
it doesn’t reach high concentrations on its own.
So the ‘user’ on pure nitrogen feels no need to
breathe, since there is no carbon dioxide, and when
he does breathe he pulls in a gas the feels normal.
Starved for oxygen, his mind drifts away and he’s gone.
I’ve favored N2 inhalation for the death penalty for years.
Nitrogen gas is cheap, plentiful, and bungled executions using needles, sedating the felon, or shortage of fatal
injectibles cease to be a problem.

Nitrogen gas inhalation is too gentle a method of sending him to allah. No pain. Just unconsciousness, then death. He chopped a human’s head off, and so should get a penalty more fitting for his crime.
Have the savage choose:
head sawed off with a chain saw
thrown off a high building
put in a cage and burned to death with gasoline
blown up with a bomb
thrown into a vat of acid
shot with bullets dipped in pig poop.
Nitrogen — good. It cheap and safe for non targets. I hope they remember to humidify it; breathing 0% humidity air can be uncomfortable.
