This bill should have been proposed two years ago - not at the eleventh hour.

He made a similar proposal in April of 2017.

People are right to suspect that this is a case of showboating.

So then Trump was showboating when he said, “Right after the election we’re doing something very strong on the wall”?

“So, what should he do in order for folks to say that he is not grandstanding?”

There is nothing he can do.

The meme is firmly established. He cannot undo his history.

And was it every voted on? A couple of meaningless symbolic bills and a beltway theater committee performance or two do not make a conservative warrior. Sadly, Ted Cruz was a mostly anonymous back bencher in this Congress.

Sure he could have. Fully endorsed POTUS and publicly supported him consistently while he was under attack by the Mueller Coup. He never did that. Instead, Cruz joined the rest of the Senate in deafening silence as POTUS of his own party was treasonously assaulted.

I'll tell you what.

You can criticize the person who proposed the good bill. I'll criticize the people who didn't vote for it.

Better late than never. It only took 2 years.

Same old Ted... It will NEVER get passed the House. ******************************* Are you kidding me? The CURRENT House is one place it would pass. I worry more about the current Senate.

Now is the time. If nothing happens before the next Congress then the wall is dead. Ted is one of the few members of Congress interested in the wall.

But Trump deserves to go to jail....

[s] Maybe if he wants Leftist to like him he should engage in some pay to play or kill some witnesses or whistleblowers? [/s]

It’s a spending bill, it has to originate in the House of Representatives.

Ted is one of the few members of Congress interested in the wall.

If Teddy Bear Cruz was actually interested in The Wall and the rest of the GOP platform he would have called on Sleepy Sessions to resign, Rosenstein to be sidelined due to conflict of interest, etc. Then whipped support for a Sessions replacement in the Senate. I’ll buy you a clue: he did no such thing.

Huh? Ted Cruz is one of the few allies Trump has in Congress. The primaries are over.

At least this will make the GOP Senate show its true stripes. If they can come up with 500 billion for TARP, why is it such a struggle for 25 billion?
