PARIS - Vincent Picard describes himself as a “militant ecologist.” But when protesters took to the streets to express their rage over a planned increase in France’s fuel tax, Mr. Picard joined their ranks.
He acknowledges that the tax might encourage the conservation considered critical for a healthy planet. But with the nearest train station 35 minutes away, he has to drive to work every day.
“I am conscious that we have reached the end of fossil fuels and that we have to modify our habits,” said Mr. Picard, a 32-year-old pastry maker from northern France. But, he added, “You have to continue to live.”

I wonder what percentage of NYT lovers have "fossil fuel" cars? Cars whose chargers often are attached to fossil fuel power plants.

France gets 40% of its electric power from nuclear plants and are striving for greater use of electric cars. France is ahead of the world in its quest to lower carbon dioxide emissions (which I think are harmless, by the way).
If Americans try to copy the French uprising against gas taxes I hope we use orange vests.

If it’s the end of fossil fuels, why is the EU all in on an SPV to get around the US’s Iran sanctions so it can buy Iranian oil?
And why is Germany buying natural gas from Russia?

When Climate Change zealots say that "we need to limit or end the use of fossil fuels," the "they" actually means "you." Feeling good about yourself for "saving the planet" sure sounds great when other people and nations are being inconvenienced or even bankrupted while you keep living as you always have. Al Gore is the poster boy for this mindset, but he's not an outlier, he's representative.
The “Climate Change” effort is nothing more than a strategy to gain political power and financial gain by the corrupt among us.
It is a criminal fraud, period.
Just imagine if the U.S. adopted the new Molten Salt Thorium Reactor technology and were even 50% powered by nuke....nope, Big Oil will never let it happen.
CO2 is not harmless, it’s wonderful! It is the fundamental building block of all organic matter including humans. These people are ignorant.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...I guess there isn’t enough money on the ‘money tree’ to support those ‘guests’ French liberals welcomed into their country.
