That's pretty much an accurate description of most illegals from Central America and Mexico who run across the border to squat in the US and give birth here. I'd wager that a good fraction of the women, age 14 (or younger) to 40, in the caravan are pregnant and ready to dump anchor babies on our side of the border too.

We need a simple and logical update to the law. If it’s a legal immigrant who came in through a legal port of entry, filled out the proper paperwork, and has legal residency status - OK, child can have US citizen status.

If not - No.

How hard can that change be? Maybe I’m missing something.

Citizenship extends from parental lineage not the geography at the time of birth. The special category of citizen called natural born citizen is extended to a child born of 2 American parents and the event happens on American geography.

What we really need is a Supreme Court that will rule that birthright citizenship is a perversion of the 14th amendment's original intent, which was to guarantee citizenship for former slaves and their children, not to create a backdoor for illegal immigrants and their children to become citizens.

Arguably, there may be no law to update. It may only be a matter of discontinuing Executive branch policies and regulations based on a misapplication of the 14thA.

Whether one thinks of it as an intentional misapplication depends on whether one believes there are folks who wish for open borders; open, at least, for the U.S.

Can ANYONE explain to me why we can't/don't have an empty C130 or two standing by onto which we can load these people immediately for deportation home(or anywhere)?? Seriously, we have the means to ship them out in large numbers. Why don't we? This invader and her baby should have been across the border during delivery!
We don't allow strangers into our homes just because they want in...why do we let them into our country?
