This was news early last week, I guess that word has just reached the proprietor of this blog? Which should be in Bloggers, not News.

Yes. The GOP has done a poor job on this. I don’t blame all of them though. A lot of the prime offenders in fact are gone in January. Flake for example. You can throw rocks at the GOP for a tolerating Flake and his co-conspirators. However you also note that as bad as Flake was his Dem replacement will be worse.

This should have been the first order of busiess two years ago. Trump was elected pledging to build the wall, so this should have been the first bill. Probably could have “compromised” (Art of the Deal) down to $12.5 Billion and we’d be on our way. I don’t think the end cost would be $25B anyway...Trump could get it done for half that amount and he’d roll thru 2020.

This is a false canard as all spending bills must originate in the US House according to our US Constitution.

A bill that Republicans know can't pass the House is just empty posturing. Republicans have been great at "tough on illegal immigration" posturing when they know they can't actually do anything about it. When they can - like the last two years - they refuse to do so.

Republicans like Paul Ryan have been as bad for the future of this nation as any Democrat.

As pointed out on another thread about same topic....
All spending begins in the House.
The window of ever passing this ended a year ago thanks to Ryan and Turtle.

This is Cruz doing Kabuki Theater again.

If no wall, Trump’s re-election is far less certain. The left and NeverTrumps know this.

Paul Ryan hasn’t allowed any border funding laws to come up for a vote so why is this going to be any different? This should have been done 18+ months ago and they should have replaced Paul Ryan if he didn’t support it. There should have been a stand-alone border fence funding bill a couple of months after Trump was elected. But once again, Republicans snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

And Republicans should have brought it up for a vote a week before the last election to remind voters who was against funding a border wall. As much as I like Ted Cruz this is not going anywhere with a month remaining before Democrats take over the House of Representatives.

DC. Dominated by GOP for 2 years. Just now does this half-hearted effort begin. What a delusion. Clearly GOP does not actually want the border closed. Clearly GOP and DC are run by powers behind the curtain.

Well, Ted & Beto both voted to give Israel $38 billion, so I am sure we can’t afford a Border Wall for our own Country.

If the government shuts down, is Mueller shut down?

Can Trump issue an executive order that no government worker will get back pay if they don’t work during the shutdown or they can take vacation days.
