Macron prepares response to 'yellow vest' protesters as Paris cleans up

French President Emmanuel Macron will address the country on Monday as he seeks to placate "yellow vest" anti-government protesters who wreaked havoc in Paris this weekend.

On Sunday, workers in Paris and other cities swept up broken glass and towed away burnt-out cars while the government warned of slower economic growth and the judiciary said it would come down hard on looting and attacks on police.

On Saturday, protesters, for the fourth weekend in a row, threw stones, torched cars and vandalised shops and restaurants in a protest against Macron's economic policies.

The Elysee palace said on Sunday that Macron, elected in May 2017, would address the country on Monday evening at 2000 Paris time (1900 GMT).

On Monday morning, he will meet with trade unions, employers' organisations and local elected officials as he tries to formulate a response to an unstructured movement that has taken France by storm and broken through traditional political and trade union communication channels with the government.

Labour Minister Muriel Penicaud said on LCI television Macron would announce "concrete and immediate" measures, but that this would not include boosting the minimum wage.

Lots of useless plattitudes, no doubt. Macron and his "let them (the Prols) eat cake!" attitude are what triggered this mess.

They only riot on the weekends?

Is that a French thing?

Macron is conflating the tax protestors and the hoodlums on purpose.

He should go right out into the streets to “talk” to the “unwashed masses”. Get right out there where the “rubber meets the road”.
The commie momma’s boy wouldn’t last 2 seconds.

They’d probably have to join the Street Rioter and Arsonists Union otherwise.

According to the story the judiciary is going to come down on the protesters. Fine, well and good, however you have to know that the French judiciary is leftist. They think the deplorables who make up a large amount of the protestors are conservatives and deserve harshness. We know that in America protestors are leftists and democrats. Our judiciary never comes down hard on them. The French judiciary would not either.

He wants them to change their vest colors to pink, and put LGBT rainbow streamers on them.

L’Enfant Pathetique doesn’t seem to get that he’s done.

Just hand over the government to Maréchal-Le Pen and go back to thumb sucking with your mommy-wife.

Macron: “We will come down hard on rioters and looters. First we will give you a warning. Then we will be forced to give you another warning. Finally, we will fine you 3 euro.”

It's a working class thing. These are middle class working folks who have jobs during the week. They aren't out to destroy their country, they just want a fair break from the limousine liberal globalist elite who have lied their way into power & don't give a darn about the electorate.

The black block anarchist will join anything which is happening out in the street just to destroy and create havoc, similar to America's Antifa.

--------------

Nothing will come of Little Macaroni's talk. His approval rating has bottomed out at 18% approval, 76% disapproval according to the latest you.gov poll but he doesn't care. He is bought & paid for by the globalist/open borders/climate change crowd and it's gonna take something serious to pry his sorry butt out of his palace I'm afraid.

As protests before the revolution developed, President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, released radical Muslims from prison to join the protesters so the protests would take on a radical tinge and he’d get sympathy from the Western powers. That helped turn simple protests into a true revolution. And, the violence and his response failed to garner any sympathy from anyone. So, yes, conflating thugs with protests has a history of failure. Also, using armored cars against your own citizens is unlikely to help out France in the long run. It might save some windows today. But I’ll bet tourism drops dramatically in the coming year.

They’ve been letting the muslim invaders get away with much worse for almost 2 decades or more.....

How many thousands of cars and buildings have the muslims burned.

How many French citizens have the muslims murdered?

There are muslim NO-GO zones where the French Police won’t even venture.

Curious when Marine Le Penne gets the blame. Left always has to blame something, or someone for their own inadequacies.

At some point in time historians will note that the election of Trump in the US, the election of Brexit in the UK, the defeat of Merkle in Germany, the riots in France, Netherlands and Belgium are signs that immigration and the economy became critical issues that governments could no longer ignore.
