Ouch! Jeff Flake makes two.. errors on his way out. One was announcing... farewell on Twitter

FULL TITLE: Ouch! Jeff Flake makes two embarrassing errors on his way out. One was announcing his farewell on Twitter

Sen. Jeff Flake made his share of mistakes since taking office, chief among them being to underestimate the intelligence of the average Republican voter, so it’s only fitting that the lawmaker makes two embarrassing errors on his way out the door.

The first and perhaps most brutal error was for the moderate Trump-hating Arizona Republican to announce his farewell on Twitter.

“Full of gratitude today as I deliver my farewell address in the Senate Chamber at 11:00 EST,” Flake advertised.

@JeffFlake Full of gratitude today as I deliver my farewell address in the Senate Chamber at 11:00 EST

The second mistake was to try to suck up to the liberals at “The Daily Show,” who tweeted a photo of one of their correspondents watching Flake’s farewell speech on the Senate floor while cozily wrapped in a blanket emblazoned with tweets from the outgoing senator.

“No better way to enjoy @JeffFlake’s farewell address than in the warm embrace of his meaningless tweets,” the show’s official account tweeted.

Flake thought it would be cute to respond: “Hey @TheDailyShow, how can I get one of those blankets?”

The only good thing I can say about Sen. Flake was he could have torpedoed the Kavanaugh nomination and he didn't.

With his hatred of DJT I am still amazed that he voted to confirm Justice Kavanaugh. That remains the single momentous action of this Flake. NOT proud to call him my Senator, when I voted for him I had no idea this is what we were getting (of course DJT was not yet elected).

He didn’t torpedo Kavanaugh because he knew Kavanaugh was a fellow Bush League Republican who was unlikely to side with the citizens.

can someone splain to me why the twitter announcement was mistake. The daily show enhances his liberal credentials and someday he will parlay into a $$$$$ new job. So hard to see why these are mistakes from his standpoint.

He didn’t kill the Kavanaugh nomination because he thinks he thinks he can run for Governor of AZ and win.

And that is quite a stretch.

Rather like: The guy wasn't all bad. He could have killed one more of many puppies he had drowned, but he was scared off by the nearby bulldog...

Flake. Sometimes the name itself is a warning.

He may have torpedoed Kavanaugh ifhis vote would have been decisive. But with Manchin and Collins voting for Kavanaugh, Flake’s vote would have caused a tie which Pence would have broken.

Let this stark truth sink in.

Remember how Shrub was motivated enought to pick up his phone and call senators to lobby for his boy Kavanaugh.

"He didn’t kill the Kavanaugh nomination because he thinks he thinks he can run for Governor of AZ and win."

He'd probably have a great chance to win, if the recent election of Kyrsten - Arizona is a "meth lab of democracy" - Sinema is any indication of where AZ is heading.

Funny you should mention Jeff Flake killing puppies. His family business did just that on hot summer days over one weekend when the AC failed and they didn’t have any alarms set up to notify anyone and no one was present at the kennel they owned. All the dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens died a horrible death from the heat.

That’s just the kind of guy Jeff Flake (and family) is.

I think you're right. Look how he voted in the baby killing Planned Parenthood case.

I put him and Roberts in the same category. Neither can be relied on to do the right thing. There's no reason for taxpayers to fund any abortions. None.
