Ex-Trump adviser Roger Stone admits to InfoWars lies, settles $100M suit

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone has settled a $100 million lawsuit accusing him of publishing lies on the far-right InfoWars website.

The Wall Street Journal reports exiled Chinese businessman Guo Wengui sued Stone in March, saying Stone accused him of being a “turncoat criminal” who violated U.S. election law. Stone now says his conduct was “irresponsible.”

Guo has criticized high-level corruption in China and applied for asylum in the U.S.

The settlement reached Monday identifies Chinese-American media tycoon Bruno Wu and a former Trump staffer as the sources of false information.

The settlement allows Stone to avoid paying any damages if he publishes national newspaper ads apologizing for the statements and retracts the statements online. He still is of interest to investigators probing Russian interference in the 2016 election.

This is just lawfare as usual. They’ve been hitting him and Jones with dozens of lawsuits and one sort of stuck. And he’s not paying $100,000,000. He’s making a public apology. That’t it. No money.

Sounds like he had two false sources that lied to him.

Jones has more stations, and a bigger voice than before.

Yeah, Alex has been wrong about some things and he’s admitted it. But he has truly been the tip of the spear. I believe him when he says he’s been offered hundreds of millions of dollars to join the globalist club.

Jones takes the arrows that other Americans refuse to take.

Jones is the primary target hated by our enemies.

People ridicule Jones so they can avoid attack by association.

Basic school bully behavior but on a grand scale.

So Roger Stone basically pays nothing. A few thousand dollars on ads is about 10 yours of legal fees.

Big fat nothing burger.

I’m probably way off base here, but if they offered that money to AJ then the Deep State mush be offering lots of money to others like Judge Nappy, etc

I’m sure the Deep State LOTS of money to buy people off.

I would be surprised if the settlement involved anything less than a full page ad. That’s $150K for the NY Times alone. Still, that’s only a month’s worth of full time legal work, so it’s a bargain, even if the total tab for the ads comes to $1m.

I found it very odd that Stone would do this to an anti-Communist Chinese. And Bannon for that matter.

Something is wrong with this whole affair, of which I know nothing. However, from reading the NY Post story and comments, I have got to ask why Stone was chosen by his two “sources” to receive and spread this information.

Who is the former Trump staffer and why would he go after Wengui if he is a good guy? Sounds like a business rival affair to me.

Can anyone explain this?
