On 'America's Newsroom' Senator Rand Paul backed President Trump in the face of harsh criticism from Republicans over his decision to withdraw the 2,000-strong U.S. force from Syria.
RAND PAUL: This is a very bold move for President Trump. It is exactly what he promised the American people -- in fact it is one of the reasons he won the election. Because he is different from so many Republicans who want us to be everywhere all the time around the world. They want us to be the world policeman, that every war on the planet we have to have our soldiers involved with.
President Trump said he was going to treat America first. I think bringing some of that money home, whether it goes towards border security or building bridges or roads in our country.

No Rand THE promise was the wall. Get a clue.
There is a difference between ending and giving up. A difference between finishing the job and abandoning allies. A difference between victory and creating a power vacuum that will be filled by some bad people (i.e. Iran and a Putin emboldened Syria which will both threaten Israel)
Bad move. Though not surprise the isolationist Paul doesn’t think so.
It’s probable that the departure of our troops from Syria, and then from Afghanistan, will result in chaos. But if there is no way to prevent that chaos except by maintaining a presence there interminably (read forever), let the chaos begin.
There’s a lotta good in Rand Paul....keep that in min, Dick; Remember!

Of course immigration was the top issue.
The headline for this story is simply inaccurate, however, in reflecting what Paul actually said.
Well, there was also the hope of locking up Hillary Clinton.

For months, everyone has been screaming....Why are we in Syria? And arming rebels...who steel all the USA arms that they can. Rebels are not the good guys either. There’s only bad and badder in Syria.

Talk about a blast from the past, there's some "conservative" rhetoric I haven't heard since about 2006-2008, during George W. Bush's presidency and the occupation of Iraq.
Call ending Obama's Syrian adventure whatever you like, it's the right call.
