You can use Charity Navigator for an Independent evaluation of charities over a million dollars income.

If you use Amazon, you can go to Amazon Smile, and Amazon donates .5% of your eligible purchases (their money) to your choice of recipients. Here is the list of the major veteran charities (you can search for your own- they have over a million recipients)-

I have designated the Missing in America Project- Veteran Recovery Program-

I give all my donations to the Clinton Global Initiative.

I heard that 100% of their contributions goes to help the poor, veterans, persecuted religious groups, and impoverished chardonnay wineries.

I give all mine to the prosecutors looking into the Clinton Foundation - but I have a little extra this year for veterans.

We are all wounded warriors, not just those since 9/11

Old farts with old wounds I guess they just fade away as far as WWP is concerned. Possibly the Iraq war 32k wounded and Afghan 20k wounded just didn't leave enough room in the WWP for the still living among the Vietnam 303k wounded and Koreas 103k wounded. Those 406k are fading fast as they age.

I donate to organizations headquartered right here in Aiken County, SC. That way I can keep an eye on them. I volunteer at a couple of them.

Two exceptions: Hillsdale College in Michigan and Samaritan’s Purse in NC.

Warrior Foundation Freedom Station is a different charity than Wounded Warrior Project.

They have top notch reviews on Charity Navigator.

DAV (Disabled American Veterans) has a good reputation. Charity Navigator rates it good. Wounded Warriors got caught spending on very expensive rooms(1,000.00/night), etc for a huge party for the top organizers in Vegas.

“lack of access to VA shrinks”

It’s hard for me to imagine a leftwad slug who voted for Felonia von Pantsuit being able to establish a therapeutic relationship with a veteran.

<<< “ Supposedly have cleaned house now, back to its real purpose. “ >>>>

I think you’re correct— the theft has stopped. But, I can’t help wondering about the expenditures for administrative expenses AND, for all these ads, everywhere, 24/7. Ga$$illions?

There are so many charities are a racket. Thinking Clinton Foundation, here. And many charities that do Millions for veterans, who have all volunteer people handling the events and work with donations.

I know 2 vets who love WWP. Made a huge difference in their lives.

There are lots of good charities.

There are 2 questions you should ask yourself about any charity: is it reputable and what kind of programs and services do they offer? WWP is large and offers a lot of different programs that deal with lots of issues vets have. The vets I know benefited from their mental health (ptsd) programs.

Check out the ones that others listed and learn how they help vets and pick the ones that provide the programs that matter most to you.

I lost favor with our director when I said in a meeting UW was not speeding money on the needy. The state of cal was big United Way participant and it came from the directors office. I know I lost at least 1 promotion. The UW coordinator was promoted twice ion two years and he was well versed in incompetence.

That’s a shame. I had a similar experience in the early ‘80’s. It was frowned upon by upper management if we didn’t contribute to UW.

That’s not good to hear. I’ll continue to donate to them because they do a good job. The rank and file have nothing to do with the politics of it.

The Wounded Warriors paid George Bush $100,000. Do they really need your money?

Just remember that Charity Navigators considers the Clinton Foundation to be 4 stars (out of 4). They don’t actually take into account how much ***really*** reaches the target. They only take into account “Program-Related Expenses” as a percent of Income, which can be very deceiving. (I run a small non-profit corp.)
