These numbers are from the far-left "Costs of War" project.

They assume that none of the deaths would have happened without U.S. involvement.

Of course, there is no way to know that, with any certainty.

There was tremendous loss of life in these areas before U.S. involvement.

The costs are tremendously overstated by the "Costs of War" project.

The Left is known for lying and exaggerating to push their political agenda.

Our poorest are the most likely to obese and are the most entertained poor people ever. The number of eligible voters who choose not to vote dwarf both political parties, it’s been that way for 100+ years. In my opinion the pols and the alphabet agencies get away with it because fat entertained people barely can get of the couch to find the remote, much less pay attention to their masters in DC.

Can’t have a war on terror. You can have a war against muslim fundamentalists. You can’t have a war against an emotion.

But, people have been conditioned to believe you can, and on that basis we have been swindled out of trillions of dollars. War against poverty. War against hate. War against drugs. War against ignorance.

As soon as someone says, we intend to go to war against those PEOPLE who are perhaps using other PEOPLE to weaken or subjugate us, then I’m in.

Too many leftist construction conglomerate companies building shacks for the criminal illegal aliens. Why rock the boat?

Should have spent a lot less money, created a lot more deaths in a much shorter time frame, and said every day it stops only when Afghanistan unconditionally surrenders. Civilians were fair game since it started by targeting thousands of our civilians.

Bush squandered the option of teaching the Middle East and anybody else paying attention that attacking us was the absolute worst foreign policy decision a country can make. I hated every time he said things like "win over hearts and minds" and "there won't be a treaty signing moment", and "the war on terror will be long", etc. He was basically telling the Death-to-America crowd to just wait it out and we'll rather remove some of our freedoms than remove their use of our air.

6 trillion dollars and there are still a billion Muslims infesting the planet.

We’re not getting enough bang for the buck.

Not bad at all for thirty years of winning against guerrilla warfare waged against us by millions of savages with two big commie nations supporting them. Their last refuge will be brought down soon.

This is why a “war on terror” is absurd. Can anyone tell when “terror” is defeated? Can we invade and conquer “terror”? When does “terror” sit down and surrender”? Congress shirked its duty (again) by not debating and voting on war, but then, how do you declare “war” on a tactic? This was a recipe for never-ending conflict and that’s what we got.

housing ILLEGALS in our country has cost us more than a 1/2 trillion every single year, so in 10 years, that’s more than $5 trillion dollars

TY

Using your numbers, annual savings for housing illegals would pay for the fence/wall 100 times over!

How many times have the bureaucrats in Washington spent our tax dollars and recouped that kind of return?!

I'm starting think ALL government functions should be funded through "Go Fund Me" accounts. I don't see where it could possibly be any worse than the 500-600 bought and paid for scumbags we have making decisions for us now, and spending us into oblivion at that.

The only exceptions should be the those funded by other means, (e.g., postal service, Social Security, Medicare, Parks & Recreation, FDA, FAA, GSA, etc.), IMO.
