ONLY GOD GIVES PEACE
The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11
One of the greatest ways God speaks to us and leads us is through the inner witness. In other words, we just know inside what is right or wrong. It is a deeper level of knowing than "head knowledge". This type of knowing is in the spirit...we simply have peace or a lack of peace. By the presence or absence of peace, we know what we should do. I once spoke with a woman who needed to make a serious decision. Her family and friends were giving her advice, but she needed to know within herself what the right answer was because she was the one who would have to live with it. She had been in a certain business all of her life and was feeling that she wanted to get out of it and stay home with her children. Of course, this would require drastic financial adjustments and personal changes for her, things that could even affect her emotionally. She needed to know from God, not from other people, what the right decision was. The woman went to a retreat with a relative. During the course of that weekend, as she praised and worshipped God and listened to the speaker, a knowing and a peace came into her heart that she was indeed right about closing the business. She said a moment just came when she knew what was right. She has had peace about her decision ever since. It is amazing how well-meaning people can tell us things, yet they really don't affect us. But when God speaks to us about a matter, it has a great impact on us. Ask God for the inner witness that only He can give. All Things New
December 30, 2018
If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Junkyards intrigue me. I enjoy working on cars, so I frequently make trips to the one near our home. Its a lonely place, where the wind whispers through discarded hulks that were once someones prized possession. Some were wrecked, some wore out, and others simply outlived their usefulness. As I walk between the rows, a car will sometimes catch my eye, and Ill find myself wondering about the adventures it had during its lifetime. Like a portal to the past, each has a story to tellof human hankering after the latest model and the inescapable passage of time.
But I take particular pleasure in finding new life for an old part. Whenever I can take something discarded and give it new life in a restored vehicle, it feels like a small victory against time and decline.
It sometimes makes me think of Jesuss words at the end of the Bible: I am making everything new! (Revelation 21:5). These words refer to Gods renewal of creation, which includes believers. Already, all whove received Jesus are a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17).
And one day we will enter into His promise of unending days with Him (John 14:3). Age and disease will no longer take their toll, and we will continue the adventure of an eternal lifetime. What stories each of us will have to tellstories of our Saviors redeeming love and undying faithfulness.
Loving Lord, I praise You that I am a new creation in You, and that in Your kindness and mercy You have given me the promise of eternal life.
The end of a year and beginning of another is an opportunity for a fresh start. What might God be making new in your life?
Todays passage gives us a glimpse of heaven, describing it as a physical place (vv. 12). Jesus said He was going to prepare a place for us (John 14:23), and this promise is fulfilled in the New Jerusalem, the holy city (Revelation 21:2). While its a great comfort that heaven is a perfect place (v. 4), the most important thing is that its the dwelling place of God (v. 3). In this final vision of the beginning of eternity (21:122:9), John hears Christ declaring, It is done (21:6). The New Living Translation renders it, It is finished! echoing Christs victorious cry from the cross (John 19:30). Sins curse will one day be completely removed and reversed (Revelation 21:45; see Genesis 3:1619).

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Our modern superficial society seems to have relegated spirituality to the basement, or to a fad thing. This society can’t understand factors like what is described here. I’ve been a believer for decades and I still often have trouble understanding. But spirituality is smack dab in the middle of the meaning of life.
