Following the law is for the little people, and enforcing secure borders is only for elites.
That seems to be the conclusion after the family of John Kerry rejected rules about land access in France, while demanding that migrants and hikers be kept away from their multi-million dollar property.
Kerry, the former liberal senator, presidential candidate, and secretary of state, spends a significant amount of time at his family’s ancestral home in Saint-Briac-sur-Mer, a beach escape and resort playground for the elite.
It’s a lifestyle that most people in America and indeed the world can’t afford, and Kerry’s family seems intent on keeping it that way.
The laws of France say that a portion of all beaches must be public access, but the wealthy Saint-Briac residents don’t think that law applies to them.

I interacted with the guy over the years, and as big a jerk as everyone thinks he is—he is much much worse.
My view, fwiw, is that he was a CIA agent during the Vietnam era and his “Vietnam Veterans against the War” group was a honeypot.
If his leftist supporters ever figured that out they would be storming the beachfront property.
My son’s fiancé worked as Kerry’s finance director in Boston when he ran for the US Senate. I visited them in D.C. after Kerry elected. She told me the’d love to run him for president but couldn’t because he was out every night with a different woman.
“He isn’t married,” I said. “Why shouldn’t he go out?’
“BECAUSE THEY’RE UNDERAGE GIRLS.”
And then he met Teresa Heinz, alcoholic widow of owner of Heinz Foods who had left her a billionaire. Remember how quickly she became Teresa Heinz Kerry? And how quickly she disappeared from public life? Life in various high-end addiction facilities. I don’t know whether John is back at the underage girls, but her lawyer was probably savvy enough to put a clause in their prenup.
But he does have access to a huge pile of $$ if he can —avert your eyes, everyone—keep his pants on.
Wifey has the bucks. Teresa Heinz Kerry.
Lurch probably has to pay them. Especially now that he looks like a figure out of Madame Toussaud's.
Kerry is plain and simply an ass.
My husband was piloting a plane Kerry was borrowing the night the “halp us joh carry we r stuck hear in Irak” thing blew up and blew away his campaign. There is a hilarious story my husband tells.
Bottom line all Kerry wanted to do was get outta town and hide ASAP.
Not surprised. My French relatives had his sister for dinner, bunch of weasels not at all interested in actual french culture, just part of this non-national globalist Euro elite, if you ask me.
