If you are worried about an "oopsie" then you probably shouldn't be carrying anyway.

- Never had an oopsie in my life, but part (most?) of that is caution.
- Never had an oopsie, but I clean my guns - daily - in a room that has no ammo, after checking them empty when I left the range and checking them empty again before cleaning.
- Never had an oopsie, but I check each firearm empty twice before leaving the range.
- Never had an oopsie, but I check whether my firearms are loaded every time I pick one up . . . every . . . single . . . time.

I fire 100 to 200 rounds a day (at least half of that .22), so even small risks are worth making smaller. If I were carrying 8 to 16 hours a day, I would want that chamber empty just for freak events. I suspect freak events are far more common than the need for an instant response to a shooter (and, yes, I've been in real situations where the firearm was relevant).

Easy answer. Let it be known which districts might have teachers and staff who are armed, and which districts PROHIBIT SAME.

Then let’s see which districts have more school shootings, and more gunshot victims.

There ya go.

I’m placing my bet.

No. Public education should be ended.

In our utopia we will also have all the unicorns pooping rainbow skittles.

(Not that I don’t agree with you)

That is a concern.
There should probably be training and procedures on securing the weapon on school premises.
And while that could delay a response a little, it would still be better than what happened last time.

The gun is useless if its locked up when someone is shooting at you. Vet your CC teachers and train them well. Don’t advertise which teachers are armed. No printing/show boating allowed or you are off the roster. If you still have concerns about someone disarming the CC teacher, then require a more retentive holster. Solutions can be found.

Has there ever been a mass shooting where the shooter obtained his weapon at the scene of the shooting from an unrelated person?
