I insist on paper receipts. Personally I can’t stand email billing either. We get dozens of emails a day. If we don’t immediately save or print the receipts, we quickly lose them.
I travel for work and frequently have AMEX entries for names that don’t match where I spent the money.
QuikStop gas station may be listed on the entry as AAASpecialstore LLC or something like that, the official name of the business, not the name on the sign.
Another liberal idea to hate.
I won’t leave a filling station after fueling up without a paper receipt.

YOU have a lousy email service.

That's the beauty of having your own domain, and a domain-based mail service. For me, receipts go to separate e-mail boxes, so that they don't get intermixed with other traffic. That role account does attract some spam, because there is no law against businesses selling the addresses.
Once I weed the spam, I can easily save them. In fact, I let filters do the secondary sorting for me.
