WASHINGTON (AP) — As the partial government shutdown slipped into the record books Saturday as the longest ever, members of Congress were out of town, no negotiations were scheduled and President Donald Trump tweeted into the void.
He did not tip his hand on whether he will move ahead with an emergency declaration that could break the impasse, free up money for his wall without congressional approval and kick off legal challenges and a political storm over the use of that extraordinary step. A day earlier, he said he was not ready to do it “right now.”

What about the vacuum which exists between the ears of MSM reporters.
If I were a government worker I would be THRILLED at this shutdown. I’m going to be paid, so I can either use some savings, borrow from family, or borrow at low interest rate from bank to patch me over. In the meantime, I’m going to be PAID for a whole lots of hours that I don’t even have to make up. I don’t see what the big deal is! PAID VACATION AND YOU DON’T USE UP ANY VACATION DAYS.
I guess the MSM’s assumption is that only govt bureaucrats read his tweets. If that doesn’t speak to the echo chamber they live in...
NY Times has 3.5M subscribers, digital and print combined - about equal to the #2 Wall Street Journal and the #3 WaPost combined (and CNN’s prime time viewership is smaller than any of the three). President Trump has eight times the reach of these top three print outlets.
Hard to believe that album was released just TWO YEARS after we landed on the moon. I got that album for Christmas in 1974 and I STILL HAVE IT. I didn’t smoke pot but after listening to that album I sure felt like I did. Hendrix has the same effect.
