Can I send this nanny the bill if the device breaks and I need to get it repaired?

“For the 99% that do not drink and drive, how is this even relevant?”

It’s not. You just get the privilege of paying for lawmakers being do-gooders.

Debbie needs to put one on her OF husband John, just to see if he’s still breathing at all. @ 92 she needs to check!

Plus they should all be required to wear NASCAR driver’s suits with all their campaign donors logos sewed on them.

I don’t need that crap in my car, I don’t drink, and I won’t buy a car with one in it.

Ah, the old "If it saves ONE LIFE" argument.

That sounds like justification from the left for The Wall!

Exactly, maybe she means well, but this is a major league stupid idea. The number of impaired drivers out there is off the charts. Weed is legal in some states, I guess. Denver, Colorado has a referendum on, I’m not making this up - legalizing hallucinogenic mushrooms. What could go wrong there, with kids behind the wheel?

Prescription drugs/medications - legal and otherwise - it would be interesting to know the % of Americans who are technically proscribed from driving. “Do Not Operate Heavy Machinery” etc. This is not enforced whatsoever near as I can tell.

That’s true. After so many minutes, you have to blow into it again.

One of my kids had this in their car and I tried blowing into it and couldn’t blow hard enough to where two more tries and it wouldn’t allow me to start the car! I wasn’t drinking, just wanted to see how to work the dang thing!

“The legislation was prompted by the deaths of Northville, Mich., residents, Issam Abbas and Rima Abbas and their three children, who were killed by a drunken driver on their way home from vacation, MLive.com reported. “

How about limiting this crap to HER DISTRICT.

Do it, please do it Dingell! I can rig up a device that will circumvent it and sell them for great money. Think of all the other like minded folk that would buy it just because they don’t want to have to blow in a tube some other guy did just before them.

Renting a car? Buy my puffer with CO2 injector for $59.99 with *free* shipping and you won’t have to put your mouth on that filthy thing again.

Fortunes to be made folks.

I’d be talking to the guy and this muted foghorn kept coming in. Over and over and over. It must be like every 5 minutes in his car. I had no idea such things existed (other than to start).

The Democrats / Liberals cannot understand what you’re saying. It’s too difficult of a concept for them.

Blow up balloon before going out. Release balloon air into device when starting home.

Oh, and how about getting drunk illegals off the road, and out of the country?

"Cause that would be racist!

I think breathalyzers should be required of congressmen three times a day, and weekly urinalysis screening for drugs.

Workplace drug-testing is pretty common; how do we make it apply to congress?

Positively Dickensian that such a morally repugnant individual should be physically repugnant as well.

If it was a practical item that works well, and if it could be attached only to the cars driven by people convicted of a DUI as an after market device, then it might be a lifesaver. Otherwise, it needlessly raises the price of new cars which are already exceedingly high.

An acquaintance had an IID (Ignition Interlock Device ) installed in his car because of a DUI. 2 problems with requiring everyone to use them are:
1.) They have a warm-up time. This is a pain in moderate climates, in cold weather it can be a while.
2.)The require regular maintenance calibration. You want to have to go to the station every three months and pay for the priviledge?

Well maybe, but I like that “jab in the ass” suggested by a previous poster above much better!
