“...a heretofore obscure threshold will be reached, enabling permanent layoffs of bureaucrats furloughed 30 days or more.”
__________________________________________________________

If this is accurate, AFGE will start screaming at Pelosi and Schumer to cave in a day or two. But before that, the MSM will throw everything they have into the suffering employees narrative.

Won’t work - not on Trump.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Go Trump - MAGA
Go Melania aka Lady MAGA

in war I would guess taking out any of the opponents is a helpful thing.

In this situation, of non-essential workers, most of those people should never have been hired in the first place.

Oh Please Please Please let it be so! Of course, I have my skeptical doubts, but it is a fact that even the THOUGHT of something like this wouldn’t have occurred in any other administration in MY lifetime!

Rolling on the floor and laughing at this if it’s true.

A secondary effect would be that the demonrats would NEVER shut down the government again.

enabling permanent layoffs of bureaucrats furloughed 30 days or more
~~~
Is that the goal?
While some segments of the populace would like it, and another unknown segment would also as a kind of schadenfreude but not admit to it, you can get yourself ready for the MSM to do bleeding heart exposés for each and every individual laid off, with particular emphasis on single mothers and minority children, all to tear at the heart strings of suburban women and untoxified submillenials.
worked for reagan in ATC stike.
much smoother operation today.
I thought originally that Trump had them in a pincer movement
But its the Scorpion move
First the pincer
Then the fatal sting
Were there any heartstrings pulled when millions of Americans were laid off in the private sector during the decades of NAFTA/GATT, etc?
That's the comeback.
This is the equivalent of the ‘nuclear option’ . Trump NEEDS to do the lay-off to bring this to a conclusion.
The national parks are bursting with tourists. Bryce Canyon is run largely by one family who own the entrance land, making serious profit. Private companies can get it done.
Obama did this in the last shut down to government employees that had not already work for the government for more then a year. My roommate had Quite his job as a loan officer at a bank to become a Federal employee with the interior working with in the fedral wild life Park system. he had worked less then a year when the shut down happened . After the budget was passed all new hires that had not worked more then one year were laid off permanently because there hiring was not covered by the budget. so this is not new just not done with employees that had worked for years in government
I don’t make up the rules, I just share them. 😊 One of my greatest frustrations as a supervisor was the inability to trim the dead weight. You almost have to push the Commissioner off a bridge to get fired around here. Or lie... my agency does not abide a lack of integrity.
POTUS already ordered a review and plan for total reorganization of government to reduce size and cost in March 2017. IIRC, that effort was completed, and part of the budget submitted for the next year.
Merging departments such as Department of Labor and Education, for example. Excerpt and Link to an article hitting some of the highlights below:
{The White House’s Office of Management and Budget today released its sweeping plan for government reorganization, which includes drastic changes to agency structures and responsibilities.
“This effort, along with the recent executive orders on federal unions, are the biggest pieces so far of our plan to drain the swamp. The federal government is bloated, opaque, bureaucratic, and inefficient. President Trump understands the frustration felt by hard-working Americans,” said OMB Director Mick Mulvaney in a news release on the plan.
“I am eager to work with my colleagues across the executive branch and in Congress to deliver a more trusted and efficient government that puts the American taxpayer first.”}
