Perdue recalled over 68,000 pounds of organic chicken nuggets on Thursday over fears that they may contain wood, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Ready-to-eat Simplysmart Organics Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets that were shipped nationwide with a best by date of "10/25/19” and a UPC bar code of 72745-80656 were recalled, the department said in a release. Pictures of the possibly affected products can be seen here.

The problem was discovered after the department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) received three complaints that wood was found in the nuggets, officials said.

The department said that there were no reports of “adverse reactions” from anyone who has eaten the chicken and that anyone who was concerned about a “injury or illness” should call their doctor.

So that’s how they last so long. They’re made of wood.

I don’t see the problem, wood is organic, isn’t it?

Besides, when the lefties make us Venezuela, we’d already be used to eating alternative foods.

So really, eating this stuff is a win win.

Big deal. There’s plenty of wood in “fiber-enriched” bread. Try finding any “multi-grain” bread that isn’t made out of wood.

And ester of wood rosin in fruit flavored sodas

https://www.wisegeek.com/why-do-many-beverages-include-wood-rosin.htm#didyouknowout

It is collected from the stumps of long-leaf pine trees, then mixed with other ingredients to form a thickening agent called ester gum.

How much wood would a chicken nugget tuck if a chicken nugget would tuck wood?

Just remarket the bags as “Fiber enriched organic gluten free chicken nuggets”.

Well, after all...it’s probably treated lumber.

I bet they’re termite resistant also...
