Thanks for sharing.

“Payed” in the article - I think it means “paid”, but whatever. HA

The good that our POs do every day is hardly ever noted and FAR outweighs the bad press that the media loves.

Best for him to stay in Clive Iowa. The reality of working in a big city, in the senseless murder districts would change his admirable tune very quickly.

Yes, they do many wonderful acts of kindness and generosity. I have read that over and over. I have not experienced it yet. Nothing has indicated people as nice as Liske.

In a case of mistaken identity of a wonderful young man I had a date with when I was very young and in the Navy in Jacksonville, FL that kindness was not shown. My friend was hauled in after we were stopped because another cop thought he looked like a local “bad guy” who had escaped jail for murder.

My friend was in the Navy and NOT allowed to call the base for help. They stuck me in a room where I couldn’t call out either. I heard thuds and crashes and yelling but could do nothing. Finally they came and got me for release.

I waited for my companion and finally he, too, was released. No apologies and all I had was a bitter taste in my mouth. My friend had bruises and I have no idea how he explained those to his friends.

Later in the same year, a girl friend and I look liberty and went to GA to see her parents. On the way there, two policemen tried to pick us up. Scum bags as they threatened us with jail time...we just marched heads down to the lines of buses and left them behind. We were so furious.

Young people are at a distinct disadvantage with respect to the law when they are troubled or not listened to so that a different deserved outcome may occur...especially if they are not accosted in their home town.

Well, I have a story. Was on a trip to Florida with my sisters to finish closing out my Dad’s will. My sister was driving while I napped and they never bothered to get gas.

Right as we crossed into Mississippi on the way home, the car ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere. My sister called the highway patrol and they said they would send someone.

It took almost 45 minutes, as he said he was two counties over and he gave me a ride to the nearest gas station 25 miles away. He also took me to a store to buy a gas can for the gas and then took me back to my car. There was no charge.

I had assumed that when he got there, he would have called a wrecker and that would be it. Instead, he spent over an hour taking me to get gas, gas can and then returning me to my vehicle.
