“think we should tell all his online friends he passed?” Can’t... NO PASSWORD.

Folks... Leave it somewhere with someone... These are the kind of things that happen when you take your password with you.

Always thought about setting up a site that would auto send an email with important info to those who needed it if you don’t check in for a determined length of time.

“Some one should look up the jobs with the lowest life expectancy. I think we might find that “Crypto-Currency CEO” may be among the lowest...”

Honest, your honor, that 190MM we had under management for other people? It’s in this locked box, that no living person can open, and we can’t even prove it’s still in there, so I guess we’re going to have to go ahead and call this an oopsie. Promise we’ll keep a backup next time! Yeah, bullshit.

"The QuadrigaCX cryptocurrency exchange says it can't
access some $190 million in bitcoin and other funds after
its founder and CEO, Gerald Cotten, died at age 30 — without
sharing the password for his encrypted laptop."

So I guess you can take it all with you when you die!

How hard can it be? It's not like Apple's encryption where a number of password tries, it will then delete everything

“Gerry died due to complications with Crohn’s disease on December 9, 2018 while traveling in India,”

Traveling in india....with an intestinal disorder....why not just stay home and lick restaurant dumpster insides? There for a good cause, yes? Horrible place for less than the strongest or most acclimatized digestive tracts.....

like the 10% reward idea, but if this guy was on the up and up, and recognized the fragility of any connected device.....

QuadrigaCX LTC Cold Wallet list and analysis

https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinCA/comments/amb73w/quadrigacx_ltc_cold_wallet_list_and_analysis/

Funds are being moved out... this means that the private keys are in fact not “lost” and we’re being played. Gerald or someone else with the private keys are literally moving our money out as we speak.

Have a look at the timestamped movements in these wallets:

Dunning-Krugerrand anyone?

This guy was likely in India doing something shady (COUGH humantraffickingpedophilia COUGH) and was killed.

He took the funds with him, and they now belong to someone else.

(vapor) squared - I love it!

I debated while writing whether to use "vapor on vapor" or "vapor-squared." I couldn't decide which sounded more rarified. As in, money vacuum.
