Democrats take aim at Trump nominee to replace Brett Kavanaugh on D.C. Court
NBC "News" ^ | February 5, 2019 | by Leigh Ann Caldwell (D-NBC)

President Donald Trump's pick to replace Brett Kavanaugh on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals is expected to face tough questioning from Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday over what they say is a career of advocating an expansive view of presidential power and working on the widespread rollback of regulations.

If confirmed, Neomi Rao would sit on one of the most important courts in the country and one that acts as a springboard to the Supreme Court. Her confirmation hearing Tuesday provides Democrats with the opportunity to press the nominee about her views on the environment, affirmative action, gender parity, sexual harassment and government’s role on these issues.

Rao is currently the administrator of a little-known but powerful office in the executive branch, the Office of Informational and Regulatory Affairs. In that role, which is often called the “regulatory czar,” she has been instrumental in Trump’s rollback of government regulations at the Education Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Interior Department and more.

“One of our primary concerns is that in a lot of areas relating to the important subject of government protections we’ve seen since the New Deal, she is more extreme than the person she will replace — Brett Kavanaugh,” said Elliot Mincberg, senior fellow with the People for the American Way, a progressive judicial oversight organization.

So let me get the leftues’s logic straight, pun not intended, this nominee’s present job has been the rolling back of the regulatory state (which they think is horrible).....and that is evidence of why she would be promoting the expansion of executive branch powers which they think is horrible.

If I am being forced to swallow that pretzel it better have salt and mustard.

Ram her through just like all other judicial nominees.

In fact, I think Trump should renominate the guy for the 9th circuit whose nomination was withdrawn last year. We have the votes in the Senate now. Ram him through too.

Am I the only one who is sick and tired of the whining by the Democrats because they didn’t get their way? Instead of playing the spoil brat, why don’t you concentrate on something that helps the American public rather than trying to hide a black eye you got in an honest fight?

Yeah, #1 woman, #2 of color, #3 parents Parsis born in India, therefore #4 non-Christian.

Therefore a 4-fer.

This is what she wrote about that I think 20 years ago:

"Though the diversity bean counters consider me a minority (Asian Indian, if you're curious), I find myself in the awkward position of not considering my race and gender very important. To the "multicultural police" this means I'm a "traitor." According to them, I'm supposed to be out there marching to "take back the night," demonstrating for more Asian-American deans or throwing myself on the ground, covered with ketchup, to protest the mistreatment of Haitian refugees. Unfortunately, these preachers of tolerance apparently cannot tolerate a minority woman who claims an identity independent of race and gender."

You go, girl. I'd chain myself to a fence for her!

Good for her! She sounds like a female, Indian Clarence Thomas - not that her color or gender makes a damn bit of difference.

Huh?

India may have more Christians (total number) than America...

Is there anything---ANYTHING---this president can say or do that Democrats will give a thumbs up to?

I seem to recall a time when the left and their media minions thought it admirable to "reach across the aisle."
