(Joshua Paladino, Liberty Headlines) A new study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform debunks the claim that illegal aliens commit crimes at a lower rate than legal residents and native-born citizens.
“This study should put to rest, once and for all, the notion that illegal aliens commit crimes at a lower rate than legal residents,” FAIR President Dan Stein said.
FAIR’s study, using data from the federal government’s State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP), found that illegal aliens perpetrate crimes three times more often than legal residents.
In some states, illegal immigrants commit crimes at five times the rate of legal residents.
SCAAP is a federal program that compensates states for locking up criminal illegal aliens. With access to this data, FAIR estimated the total illegal alien inmate population in some states.
FAIR chose to study Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Texas and Washington because they have the highest concentration of illegal aliens, they regularly report to SCAAP, and 65 percent of the United States’ illegal alien population lives within them.
While the report shows that authorities incarcerate illegal aliens on criminal convictions three times more than legal residents, it leaves out a key fact: every illegal alien has committed a crime by entering the United States without authorization.
The mainstream media portrays illegal aliens as much less likely to commit crimes because they fear deportation. But the states studied have numerous sanctuary jurisdictions, where local law enforcement refuses to comply with federal immigration authorities, so deportation is not as prevalent a threat.

I’m actually puzzled, the decriminalization of everything has been wreaking havoc in the rural area where I live, I can not imagine how much of an impact it’s had in major urban areas, yet shockingly, I’ve heard virtually nothing about those big city crime waves which I’m sure echoes what’s happening here.
I think it’s one of those “diversity and multiculturalism” things.

I was thinking particularly of LA’s no longer enforcing shoplifting laws. I assume the retailers will jack up prices to cover their losses. If it were San Francisco, the supervisors would then force retailers to drop their prices back down. Maybe LA will.
Anything less is nothing more than unorganized blather (yak... yak... yak...) with little overall impact.

And, moreover, if the number was lower, but still within sight of “1”, I’d still say vet harder and keep most of them out.
I’m just gobsmacked that on something that’s this important no one seems to really know anything quantitative, although its obvious the number is somewhere between 2 and 10. Did this study count identity theft? Motor vehicle uninsured driver accidents? Etc, etc.
They all commit one common crime — They are here illegally.
When blacks are suspended at a higher rate from schools for violations, and stopped much more often on the roads for dangerous driving, and arrested at a higher rate for weapons and drugs and stolen property and home invasions....
It is obviously due to white racism and white racist cops.
Thus,
arresting illegals for actual crimes shows police are picking on the illegals. Do they arrest white ministers and doctors or animal rescue volunteers at the same rate as illegal home invaders? No.
Discrimination.
