Yes, 9PM ET.

It funny how everything revolves around ET in the U.S.A.

I lived on the West Coast for a few years during the 1980s and everything was discombobulated. Football games were coming on at 10am on Sunday mornings. Saturday Night Live was never live - by the time it came on, it was three hours old and some parts would get bleeped out. In the 1984 Election, I learned of Reagan's landslide victory when I was still at work and the sun was out. Even out there, if you said something was happening at 8PM, they'd ask you "Our time or East Coast time?"

That’s true. It must be really weird. I’m on the East Coast, and on election night 2016 we had to stay up WELL past the point of exhaustion to see the final results. For West Coasters, though, it would have been just past prime time!

I think we had it better, though. It made it all more special somehow to have to wait half the night for :-).

I lived in California (central valley) for a time.

It seemed that the rest of the country had it’s events and we found out about it later.

That was back when California had a republican Governor. Reagan. Very different place back then.
