President Trump on Monday said he would build his long-desired wall along the southern border regardless of whether Congress approves funding for it. "Just so you know, we're building the wall anyway," Trump said at a campaign rally in El Paso, Texas, which sits directly across the Rio Grande from Mexico. Trump spoke shortly after lawmakers said they had reached a funding deal in principle to avoid another government shutdown set to begin on Saturday. The deal includes some money for barriers along the border. The president said he would not sign an agreement that cuts the number of detention beds used to house immigrants caught living illegally in the U.S. "If we cut detention space, we are cutting loose dangerous criminals into our countries," Trump said. "I will never sign a bill that forces the mass release of criminals into this country." Democrats appear to have dropped their demand to dramatically slash the number of beds, but the measure does not include Trump's full request for 52,000 beds.

Shelby might SAY he has a deal, but after saying this, Pres. Trump answered with:
“I will never sign a bill that forces the mass release of criminals into this country.”
So if this is in the bill Shelby’s lauding, Trump AIN’T signing it.
Trump should declare a national emergency and build the wall.
He’s not going to veto it. $1.4 billion is a lot more than “Not one dollar”....aka....the Pelosi/Schumer mantra.
Won’t surprise me if he puts up a billion of his own money for it.
Not that I can even imagine what it’d be like to do such a thing, though I suppose it’s all relative . . .
We have about 49,000 beds right now. I think with some fast tracking, we can get down to the 40,000 number.

When I saw his name I knew we were screwed .
Again he spoke of the elite DC politicians who live behind walls and armed guards while denying security to “you.”
That’s is a wicked sharp point because it’s how real people feel. And — here’s the kicker — that even resonates with Democrats.
He is successfully casting the Democrats as the party of the rich.
He said “Guilty! I live behind a wall too, but I want you to be safe (to the El Paso audience)”. That was very well received.
We need to herd those people out of those facilities and onto SOUTHBOUND buses we charter. We’ve got thousands of troops at the border to make sure they don’t re-enter until we can get the rest of the wall built.
Trump just said it .
Its a disaster that handcuffs ICE invader beds and releases thousands of Invaders into our streets .
Its a cheap labor express scam .

So many are so sure he’s gonna back down, or bow to the RINOs/GOPe/dems... But, he is keeping illegal immigration and border security in the forefront of the nation’s mind.
Every one is talking about it, it can’t be ignore, the media cannot sweep it under the rug. We are winning. The more people think on it, the more likely these common sense border policies will prevail.
So sad to see the same old Ee-yores on this site so sure it will all fail.
