NARAL blasts Sinema for support of Trump judicial nominee
Politico | 2/13/2019 | Marianne Levine

Posted on 02/13/2019 2:24:30 PM PST by Drew68

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) came under fire Wednesday from an abortion rights group for her support of President Donald Trump’s judicial nominee Michael Liburdi.

In remarks to the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday, Sinema praised Liburdi’s credentials, describing the nominee as a “well-respected attorney” and noting his role as general counsel for Republican Arizona Governor Doug Ducey. Sinema added that while she did not share “all of the same political beliefs” as Liburdi, he was still “professionally qualified" for the role.

Trump nominated Liburdi to become a judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona in January.

But Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, blasted Sinema for her support of Liburdi, calling it “beyond troubling.” The group highlighted Liburdi’s role as chairman of the Arizona Right to Life PAC as well as his work for Ducey, who signed a law last year that requires doctors ask women seeking an abortion the reason for their decision.

“Democratic Senators should be doing everything in their power to fight these efforts to stack courts against women and families,” Hogue said in a statement. “You can’t claim you are an advocate of women and our reproductive freedom just because you vote correctly on some legislation if, at the same time, you help elevate right-wing judges who will inflict long-term damage to our cause.”

What's going on with Sinema? First she applauds at SOTU and now this? She'd better watch her ass.

Maybe she just wasn’t a leftist nutjob that we all thought she was.

Maybe she is one of those rare left of center democrats. I thought they all passed on or got thrown out of the party.

By no way, I am saying she is on our side in any ways.

She’s a smart politician who doesn’t want to be painted as extreme or partisan. Doug Jones of Alabama did the same thing on some recent vote.

Huh. What year does she think this is? 1986?

That's what she ran as. It would be nice to get a defection to our side once in a while. Usually it's the other way around. They run as centrists or conservatives and then once elected, run to the left becoming communists and RINOs.

Not a Sinema cheerleader yet but it's nice to see an individualist streak that might be emerging from her.

She also voted “aye” today on Trump’s AG pick.

Yep, she’d better watch that backside.

She’s not nearly as good a Democrat as McTurd was.

The DNC in AZ wants to paint her as a moderate till 2020 so they can take out McSally.
Unlike the GOP in AZ, they have a plan.
2021 you will see the Commie in all her glory.

She’s picking up some moderate bonafides because her vote would not change the outcome.

We’ve been saddled with RINOs since forever. Maybe it’s time for some DINOs to emerge.

Don’t want to sound like an optimist, but sooner or later some of the RATs surely must realize that Trump’s plan is what Americans — real Americans — really want.

Thank You for posting Drew.

So, the NARAL knives are out for Senator Sinema?

This speaks volumes about when Liberals cry for Bi-partisanship but when you have a President who truly creates it, they freak the hell out!

This is what the globalists fear most, a Trump administration that brings the Democrats back from the freaking brink of the Red Guard.

Maybe Senator Sinema actually wants what is best for the people of Arizona.

I follow her on twitter and she is real big into veteran causes and bills.

She can't be worse than John McCain.

Dare I say she could be better?
