Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz on Thursday said the Department of Justice’s discussions to employ the 25th Amendment to oust President Trump-- if true-- amounted to a coup.
Dershowitz appeared on Fox News’ “Tuck Carlson Tonight,” to give his take on former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s descriptions of Justice Department meetings where he said officials discussed ousting the president.
Evoking the 25th Amendment, Dershowitz said, would a fundamental misuse of its original purpose. It was originally “about Woodrow Wilson having a stroke. It’s about a president being shot and not being able to perform his office,” Dershowitz added.

What reason would there have been to remove the President, other than people in positions of power were unhappy with the choice of the American electorate?

Hard to believe anybody in DC ever thought that was a real thing.
Is was only going to buy them Mike Pence so why even bother?

He'd be easier to push aside than President Trump.
I do hope all involved in the coup attempt will be prosecuted for treason. But I’m not counting on it.

Today it’s actually happened and half the country not only does not care, their only concern is that it didn’t succeed. It’s really hard to see how we ever recover fron this level of lawlessness. Surely we can never unite with those that desire unlimited government. I fear we remain on a course that can only end in the breakup of the nation into two seperate countries or a violent and bloody war.

Except for the XXII Amendment, there is nothing more poorly drafted than the XXV Amendment.
However, it is part of the Constitution, and discussing using it is not illegal.
I wonder if they talked to Pence,and what he said?

Well, that’s a very important question in these perilous times, alright.
Douchowitz just got disinvited from a few more Martha’s Vineyard parties, balanced by a few more TV appearances. It’s gotta be tough being a professional windbag.
Hillary had the resources and time to construct a mountain between herself and consequences. That mountain has to be removed to get her to the point of facing justice in an un-rigged venue.
But in this case, even before moving the mountain, the primary investigative bulldozer, the FBI, had to be de-loused in its upper-level offices. As the FBI becomes fully engaged in the right direction, the mountain of co-conspirators and minions and hostages is being chewed into.
Even so, Hillary is by far not the most powerful of those seeing their protections systematically removed, in what gives the appearance of being a methodical military multi-stage offensive operation.
This is a helluva time to be alive
